So glad you've joined up in the Finding your Voice group.
The best way to learn how the group works is to get involved in the discussion. Just like life - no lurkers, only participants.
"Hey everybody, I trust you all are ok. I have been searching through the different groups @ 48days and I think I have found a good place to start. Here's a little background. I am currently a band director in a small community public school. I…"
"Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you just want to have a website up without having to code anything I would use a content management system like Wordpress or Joomla. You can get different themes for them to make them…"
"I really like Balsamiq Mockups. Note, it's not a design tool, it's a rough layout tool. It will get you on your way to knowing where everything goes. Then you can start adding colors, gradients, and fonts to the mix."
Im trying to determine what the best website design software is. I have no HTML/code experience, so that is definitely not in the equation. I've never used either, but I've followed coffee cup for a while. So what are your thoughts/opinions?ThanksSee More
"Hey group....it's been tremendously helpful being able to bounce ideas and ask questions. So....of course, I have some more questions. I've just bought a domain untanglingthewires.com. I don't have a website hosted yet but it's…"
"Good points, Peder. I'll reiterate what you said, that I wasn't clear about, and that is you will need to buy yet another domain at the place you will host your domain. So if your domain is on BlueHost, but your domain name was purchased…"
All of the comments above are really great. I can attest to the fact that I have used Host Gator (aff) and have had a very good experience. If you are new to setting up your own website for the first time, (which I can attest to…"
"I have quite a few domains I purchased at 1and1.com (though I have some at GoDaddy too... the .xxx tld is a recent issue, and frankly not one I had thought about until you brought it up. Out of (my) sight, out of (my) mind I guess.)
Although I find…"
"Hi Mike - great question. As far as having a site it really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. I believe that there is simply no good reason for anyone in business these days to not have a website. Maintaining them isn't so hard…"
"Bob, you seem pretty knowledgeable in terms of starting your own website. So let me ask you a few questions. I'm trying to get started on my own. How necessary do you think it is to have/maintain a website? Secondly, do build/design your own?…"
How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about this from the 48 Days podcast. What I would like to get from this community is advice on how to maximize my newly obtained masters degree from Fullsail University.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am currently a middle school band director in a small public school. I also have a small scale film production company based out of my home.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My dream is to become completely self - employed. My ultimate jobs would be to be a full - time technology coach, while presenting sessions at professional development sessions for schools and universities. I would also like to continue to develop my video business.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I would also love to build a recording studio or a film production suite at my house; another dream that I have is to start a barbecue restaurant.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I love technology. Anything that has to do with technology completely inspires me. The masters degree that I have just earned is in the area of educational media design and technology. What that entails is using technology to enhance the learning process in every subject and at every grade level. That is what this program is all about.

Hi Mike -- Welcome to the 48 Days community. We're glad you joined.
This is the idea and social networking site for people that want to create their own opportunity.
I'm curious, what are some of your ideas for moving into the work and life you've always wanted?
Depending on what your interests are, there is a wide selection of discussion groups to get involved with. if you are interested in getting in touch with the purpose and calling that is on your life, here is the link to ours, finding your voice.
I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.
Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!
Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:
