Tell-Tale Signs

I have often been asked to attend important meetings to observe the person with whom my employer is meeting. My job is to watch for telltale signs of the true character of the person I’m observing. This usually falls into two categories. The first is hiring and the second is in seeking an investor. Usually those on “my”…See More

Rule Out the Obvious

Back when I worked in dermatology, we would send biopsies to the lab every day. We would write on the order to: “Rule out_ (suspected diagnosis)_”. Usually we had a pretty good idea of what we were dealing with but wanted every other diagnostic possibility ruled out first. Our suspected diagnosis, called differential diagnosis,…See More

Memory Stones

A biblical concept we have employed in our family is the concept of building memory stones. In the Old Testament we see many examples where the Israelites are told to stack stones to provide a marker of the point of God’s deliverance. The stones are used to remind the current generation and to tell future generations of that…See More

Working the Ground

Growing up on a farm teaches one early, the concept of working the ground prior to seeding. It usually would start with plowing, similar to the farmer in the picture. After plowing, the next step is to break up the overturned ground by disking it. After the disc did its job breaking up the plowed ground, then, generally,…See More

Comfort Zones

From early on in life, I have been aware of the limitations of my comfort zone. Maybe it was being the fifth child in a family of seven kids; where I had to speak up if I was going to get more than a chicken neck for dinner. Of course, by reaching out, there have been disappointments along the way, but the benefits far…See More

Pollyanna

When our daughter, Jennie, was about six or seven years old, she had earned a new book. My wife, Barbara, always had a reading plan for our daughters to earn a book of their choice at the bookstore. Mike I just wanted to reach out to you as Rob Clinton and I moderate the blogs. I wanted to point you to our Getting Started page which outlines the basics of our community http://www.48days.net/page/sign-up-1

I know you are very active on the blog site and I especially wanted to remind you of the Rules of Engagement Policy. Welcome Mike,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

One thing I noticed on your profile is that you are self-employed. That is great! Keep up the good work.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the message.

The best way to learn how the community works is to get involved in the discussion. We have an exciting one going on right now. We are encouraging and holding each other accountable in journaling our "successes" and "safety steps". Just like life - no lurkers, only participants.

They'll be an option for you to join the group if you haven't already. You'll probably find that option at the top middle or right hand side of the page once you get there.

See you in the discussion.
