My horse painting selected for retail products!

I am really pleased to announce that my horse painting has been selected to be featured on a line of products by Cal31.com. (T-shirt, tote bag, and pillow, to be specific. You can see them here.) It is an unexpected benefit, I believe, of putting into practice all the advice I have been given over the past year.Beginning with the 48 Days podcast, I…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
From the 48 days newsletter. I hope to learn tools to be a success as an artist, and to impart some lessons I have learned to others.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Self-employed artist, illustrator
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
To make an abundant living through my art, and use that abundance to help others.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
To be a blessing to others. I desire to sell my original oil and acrylic paintings to finance these blessings.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Artwork in oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, graphite that touches people's hearts with emotion and hopefully demonstrates God's majesty.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?
http://www.michaelbrugh.com
Are you interested in finding a better job, starting a business, growing your current business, writing a book, blogging, podcasting, coaching, speaking, sales & marketing, or something else?
My desire is to sell original art, prints, and illustrations. I have several related ideas (stored in Evernote) that involve an e-book, blog, and two platforms. One is geared toward paying it forward to aspiring artists.
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I have a line of calendars, coffee mugs and prints of my artwork at Zazzle.com. (Link below)

Peer into the marketing future

I stumbled across this interesting video from some talented folks who culled statistics on what people are using to purchase, use, and read in the years to come. I thought it might give some insight into where we ought to focus our energies in reaching future customers.

Hi Michael,

How much of Jack's method have you tried on Ebay?  I've read all his articles on FASO, have communicated some with him via email, and then decided to buy his book.  According to his writing it was a few months before he ever got $25 for a painting, but he started out listing them all at a $25 starting bid. It was over 6 months before he got $50.  I've already sold some for over $30 and had 1 hit $43.50.  I've made the commitment (as Jack states) to do this for a year and only then will I consider whether I want to stop or continue.  The hardest part is doing a painting a day.  I'm trying to have no less than 4 paintings at anyone time and I'm posting Mon - Sat so the most I'll ever have is 6. I'm actually looking for this to be my career after getting downsized in Dec of '10.  I also do Art Fairs in the summer with my wood carvings.  With my severence, my wife and I figured I had 3 years to make this work and live the dream.  If Ebay is as successful as Jack says, with it and art fairs I'll be able to make it.

I went to your web site and facebook site.  You've got some great art.  Keep moving forward and keep creating art.

Hey Michael - Welcome to Artists Arise! I see you live in Mobile. I lived there for awhile - in one of the historic homes on Dauphin Street. I'm glad to be away from the heat & the hurricanes though:-) It's great to have you in our group.
You'll find an encouraging bunch of folks who'll cheer you on. I checked out your website - WOW! Beautiful work. It's nice to have you on-board ~ deby
