I hosted another successful group art exhibition this past Saturday!  After numerous successful exhibitions and a year of related volunteer work with a local non-profit, this past weekend I was offered a paid position coordinating solo and group exhibitions at a local gallery!!  This position will not replace my full time job, however, the extra income will help pay my studio rent and the experience is priceless!!  Hard work=success!

Starting something new

I tried the fine art circuit this summer- fun, exhausting and expensive.  So now I know amping up fine art sales is probably not going to fulfill me, I am looking at a new idea.  My husband and I are interested in starting a business selling outdoor/recreational items & clothes.  We would like to sell higher quality brands and items.  We also have a few shops in towns 1-2 hours away that are similar to our interests.  Our town does not currenltly have anything like this.  We do not have any…See More

What is the Next Step?

After taking on as many projects as possible and planning and coordinating multiple art exhibitions, working on projects with a local non- profit organization, I just realized the common denomiator.  I love project management!  I have a BA in Communications and minor in Art- what kind of background is usually needed to work professionally doing project management?  I am doing a lot of volunteering to help planning projects, is there a specific degree that is more tailored to this  field?  I…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I listen to the podcast, and inspired by listening and hope to find direction and ideas from others within a caring community.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am a full time employee with a large health insurance corporation. I am also an artist and own my business, in which I sell my artwork.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
Work that is more fulfilling. Work that makes me feel valued. I would love to work for myself, or someone who allows me to use and grow the skills I have. I would love to work with art full time, or in a more creative field, while still keeping a balance with my family life.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I love to volunteer my time to promote the arts in my community. I would like to continue donating time to my community, while still allowing time for my son. I would love to travel the fine art circuit one day.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am good at working with others, coordinating, organizing and delegating tasks. I have decent writing skills and love to brainstorm. I have a lot of creativity and pay attention to details. I am a doer, I do not like sitting still for long.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?
http://www.MegsArtSpot.com
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I am a Fine Artist. I paint mostly abstract in style. I prefer to work in oils and acrylics. Commissions are accepted. Artwork available for purchase online or during listed exhibitions on my website. Studio hours by appt only. Art fair rentals available at www.MegsArtSpot.com as well. Tent, display walls/panels, tables, tablecloths, easels all available for rental. See website for details and rates.

Here are a few images of my artwork! Both are acrylic on canvas. Enjoy!

Hello Meghan,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian
