Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about this from Joel Boggess after interviewing him for ChicagoNow blog: Leaving a Corporate Job to Embrace His Passion.

http://www.chicagonow.com/barefoot-in-the-burbs/2012/03/joel-bogges...

I love being a part of a like-minded community filled with a zest and passion for life. After all, life is too short to pout all the time. Why not have lots of fun while you're at it?
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Self employed. I'm a Passion Coach specializing in helping others to unwrap their passions.

I'm also the part-time Director of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infusion for Hands & Voices and I work in early intervention providing mentoring services to families with deaf/hard of hearing children. I blog at ChicagoNow, a Chicago Tribune-owned site.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
There's a quote on the back of my business card which says simply this:

"When work, commitment, and pleasure all become one and you reach that deep well where passion lives, nothing is impossible." (unknown)
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I want to become the top female barefoot waterskier in my division and compete in the Barefoot Worlds. I also want to be the oldest woman to barefoot jump.

I have written four books and plan to write many more-- my dream is to work from anywhere-- oh wait, I'm already doing that! I love to speak to groups and travel.

My heart really sings when I sit down with someone and help them unwrap their passions, especially if they've long buried them inside. I love watching people find their joy.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I have the ability to ask questions and get to know folks on a deep level. I enjoy talking to people and sharing knowledge. My barefoot coach calls me "relentless," but I prefer to say I'm just passionate about life and the pursuit of dreams.

If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
Two books published, two about to be released, two more in the works!

Dan Miller's Advice to "Take Action" Pays Off

Posted on March 5, 2013 at 8:00am 13 Comments

At the "Coaching with Excellence" workshop in May, 2012, Dan Miller gave a piece of advice at the closing. He said, "When you leave here, if you learn one thing from all of this, it is to 'take action.'" I'm probably paraphrasing his exact…

What Did You Have for Breakfast? How About a Couple of "No"s?

"No."

That can be a really scary word when you're out chasing a dream. It can be the most discouraging word you've ever come across when you're in the business of sales. If you're looking to publish in the traditional way, it's the one word writers quickly become familiar with right away.

It…

Thank you Karen, The cooking is going well. I'm excited for grilling season. Just tonight I tried Spanish cooking, Vegetable Paella; I like it.

I appreciate the link to the documentary. Looking forward to studying it.
