Lee Smith, ND said… I see your point too, and it makes sense that there have to be some boundaries.
repository for members' promotional links, downloads, etc might create a challenge to manage (I may want to TM that phrase), but it could keep the posts off the feed.
I initially tried to start a holistic nutrition group on the site but it disappeared so I figured that it just wasn't approved for some reason and kept up with the current posts instead of going into groups where "most of the action is."
We don't want the wrong type of resources archived here (I get that 100%) but maybe there could be an approval process for posting electronic resources. Another thought of course is that you guys can probably delete a unseemly character and remove all of their "footprints" too, so once it was identified they'd be gone and all of their links or uploads.
Thinking and typing through this, I guess I would want to be in a "Members' Resources" group, even if it was the wild west...I just wouldn't want the wrong eyes exposed.
If you start up a group like that...I'll join, but I'm still going to be well under the 20:1 ratio...for Karma and Christian ethic on giving and receiving.
Lee Smith, ND said… So much of these posts are in that unclear area...for example, if I had simply added a few more words such as "What do you guys think?"
I've never used this site as a spammer, and I'm sure you can search my activities to see that I'm way beyond the 20:1 rule of thumb for giving vs receiving that many pros like M Hyatt suggest for social media. If this was anything more than a free ebook, I'd absolutely see your point but I'm just not feeling like I represent a threat by sharing a free resource simply because I wrote it. Dan M actually liked the last resource I posted, so I guess I'd like to see a place on 48days.net for posting resources from the crowd. :-)

Thanks for the note Justin! Yes, Kent and Dan's conferences are amazingly awesome stuff!!! Thanks again for keeping the site in good standing.

Ben Arellano said… Hey Justin,
I understand. Since I have personally gone through a 48 Days program myself, I have had success by finding a passion for a certain type of work. I was promoting my product, but my product is designed to help others who were in my shoes at one point, and I figured that it might encourage and inspire others. So in essence I thought my post might inspire or help others. I really didn't have any ill intent, and I wasn't trying to trick anyone into buying my product, I just merely thought it might help someone out. Plus there are many free aspects to my website that don't require any membership but are simple helps for others.
Thanks,
Ben
George Vincent Frye said… Justin, thanks for talking about Surveys on your podcast!
Google Forms was sitting right in front of me for months and I had no idea that you could use it for surveys!
As usual, I greatly appreciate your hard work and content.

Ivan Bickett said… I think the friend request got lost in the shuffle maybe? It's all good though. I heard someone say "digital friend" yesterday referring to friends she had made on her website...
HA! It was an interview on coachradio.tv! Episode 87 - Layla Palmer!
... And I liked the phrase. It honestly made me think of you. But then I thought it was weak. B/c honestly, you know more about what I'm doing with my life than any of my friends I live around.
So glad we've got into contact and REALLY looking forward to meeting you in person at the Speak It Forward Boot Camp in October.

Right now I'm in the mountains of Colorado with some of my best friends, getting ready to kick off another Free Agent Academy event. This is our once per year event where we focus on online strategies; your website, social media, podcasting, video, blogging, and more.
What I really dig about these events is that every single…

Hang around Twitter for a while and you'll notice some confusing things. If you're new, you'll likely be curious about the hashtag, #ff.
A hashtag is any text proceeded by the '#' symbol. It's an easy way to clasify a tweet with a topic or idea. In nearly every twitter client, and the website itself, you can click on a hashtage and see related tweets. Pretty cool.

Creating your own online show and podcasting it isn't as difficult as you might think. You've probably seen podcasts rising in popularity lately and it's time you jumped in with your own.Posted on May 19, 2011 at 1:00pm 3 Comments 0 Likes

Last week I shared about an upcoming move for Christine and I, and now our home officially on the market. Our realtor, Michael, is a long time friend and goes out of his way to do things the right way. His average days on market are much lower than other…

The internet is free. Well, as long as you take the cost of connecting to it and your computer out of the equation. For that matter, you can even go to the library. So essentially, the internet is free.
What you find on the internet is amazing. Entire college classes are online at no charge. Instructions to make wedding cakes, complete with video, and…
