Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
A mentor friend first told me about Dan's book 48 Days back in 2007, and I have been a fan of his ever since. I've read (I think) most of his books and listened to his online radio show for years. I hope to be able to connect with other like minded people here, serve others and develop my idea of a dream career in the live events space.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Currently I work for in the corporate live event space. Most of my working time is spent at a 5 star Ritz-Carlton resort providing audio-visual service to the various events that are on property.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
Right now my goal is to work as an Audio Engineer (A1) in the corporate live event space. I would love to focus on personal development/leadership events but am also interested in getting into cooperate events. Someday if it all comes together and we move to Franklin, Tennessee I would like to work on Dave Ramsey's Live Event team.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
Current main goal is to pay off our home in 7 years or less. Have $37k left to go as of July 2016.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Understanding and using technology. Working with/in a team. Live event logistics and leading teams. Audio and video systems, post audio editing, I love working with and inspiring people, leadership and love the world of personal development.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?

Are you interested in finding a better job, starting a business, growing your current business, writing a book, blogging, podcasting, coaching, speaking, sales & marketing, or something else?
I am interested in growing as a leader and person, and getting into the live events industry.
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:

The Unintended Consequences of a Mastermind Call

Posted on August 1, 2015 at 5:30am 7 Comments

Back in May I started a mastermind with a couple other like minded people. I've wanted to start one for several years but struggled with who to invite. Just getting up the courage to share the idea for me was a challenge with folks that I didn't think would be interested.

But I learned to be courageous and contagious!! I've gotten a lot better with sharing the idea. Our group is growing (2 of us are steady and we've had 3 other join us off and on).

But back to the repercussion…

I'm CEO of a Mini-Conglomerate

Posted on December 11, 2010 at 11:03am 1 Comment

Yes, that's right! I've started a conglomerate. Or rather it's been slowly building and building until I realized I had one. This morning I woke up with so many ideas for the conglomerate's website!

One of my dreams has always been to run a big multi-national conglomerate. Well it hit me this morning that I have a mini one going already. Yes, it's probably not always wise to be a generalist but granted that's what I've tended to be. I do love it even if I don't make a ton of…

I see a lot of forum posts and questions about business ideas... maybe I"m just drawn to those types of posts.

Coming up with good business ideas was hard for me at first too. Now it seems like that I've figured out what I'm passionate about I've got ideas coming from all directions! It's amazing!

Some ideas for coming up with ideas...

  • Do manual labor or work that you don't have to think about. This seems to get your mind to thinking about ways to…

Thanks Jordan, that helps.

About the work I do. I do consulting with corporations both in the U.S. and in other countries. Most recently, I concentrate on training and do less consultant, which I love. The topics I facilitate are in the following areas: Leadership, team-building, communication, DiSC, interpersonal skills, conflict management, Diversity as a business advantage, etc. I would happy to explain more if you would like.

Hello Jordan,

Thank you!! I'm slowly figuring out how to reply to all the comments on my wall - I guess I keep on clicking til I figure it out!!  Yes, I know the screen you are mentioning, I am in the final stages of preparing that site for a soft launch (not promoting it - don't want to promote it).  I'm using the Authenticator app to keep that "wall" up - I would love if you or anyone knows of a way that I could make it so that this community could get in and poke around - while keeping a block up on the rest of the internet until things are finished up and more content is posted.  Until then I'm still plugging away, it will be live (I hope this month) for sure by Jan 1!  You're posts were both very helpful, thank you for your time!! :)

Hi Jordan,

My business is a new concept so with all things new its hard for people to get the idea. It takes a little longer then other common businesses. I would suggest not to have the meeting rooms as the primary money maker but as the supplement to your primary business. I have been open almost a year and I've meet some great people most entrepreneurs and small businesses.

I look forward to connecting with you further in the group.
