Profile Information

What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am an emplyee with Dominos Pizza (driver). Occasionally I sell things on e-Bay.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I want to be self employed. I would like to start a business building and selling three things; (1) High quality, heavy, funiture-style, custom poker tables,(2) custom made steel string guitars hand crafted from raw wood and (3) beautiful, high quality cigar humidors. Weird, huh? I've built one poker table so far and I think it turned out pretty good. And I LOVED building it! More than anything I want to be free. I'm not afraid of hard work. I just want the freedom to take my life/business/love wherever I want and in whatever direction I want. And if God opens a door in an area completely unrelated to the wood working thing I want the freedom to be able to walk through it. I also have an interest in real estate. I love the idea of finding the potential/profit in a property and working to pull it out. I guess I'm talking about 'flipping' houses.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
In very basic terms, I think God has given all of us three things under which all the other facets of our lives can be categorized; a mind, a body, and a spirit. These things are inter-related and each one's health is dependent on the others'. I say this prayer often; Lord, grant me the strength, courage and wisdom to nourish, to the best of my limited ability, my mind, body and spirit so that I may serve You with all that I am.
In short, I want to be close with God. I want to treat my body as the special gift that it is. I want to exercise my mind so as to better contemplate God and His gifts and to explore all that He has given us. I want to bring my soul as close to Christ as my sinful, limited nature will allow. I want to live a life in thanksgiving and service to Him.
On a more worldly note, I want to learn to be a good business man, one that is honest, fair and only participates is deals where everyone wins. I want to learn spanish, Italian and sign language. I want to read a book per month. I want/need to quit smoking (ugh! I know). I want to get into excelent physical condition. Last, but certainly not least, I want to be a better son, brother, uncle, friend and Christian.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I really don't know for sure but I'll try. I think I prefer working alone, or maybe I just haven't yet been part of a team that I really fit. I very much enjoy wood working, though I'm just a novice (I think I get that love from working with my dad on projects around the house as a child) I think I have a fairly strong sense of empathy, in general. You know, judge not... When I'm really interested in a subject I think I'm a pretty good teacher (I remember what it's like to not know something and how a good, patient teacher can make all the difference). In fact, I used to be a flight instructor. I enjoyed the work, but in hind sight, flying, to me, was just a job and not the passion that I thought it was at first. I used to really enjoy writing. I always say that I'm going to start writing again but I always find a reason not to or let the desire fade.
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I've built a high quality, solid, heavy, and if I do say so myself, beautiful poker table and it is now for sale.
