Hi Joel, I think that it comes down to listening. Passion and abilities are related but not the same thing. For clarity I talk to people I know and trust. I also pay close attention to the passage of time while I am engaged in an activity. Do I loose track of time? Do I feel energized or drained? Do I find myself thanking God?
I do have many interests and talents, and have known my passion since I was a child. This brings a unique problem for me, as I sometimes feel like a Jack of all Trades, Master of None. Also, I don't seem to know of other ways to be involved with my passion other than get more degrees. Although I love learning, I'm a bit leery of going into more expense. One more thing, I have never had a mirror (close friend) to tell me their opinions on my gifts, abilities, and weaknesses as well. Someone told me this may not be necessary, but I really desire that. By the way, I have been too quiet for too long. I have much to say, but don't really know how to put it all together in a coherent fashion. I hope to do that in this group.
If you rattle your own cage, expect to ruffle a few feathers.People grow comfortable with the way they see you.As you look to make a shift in your same ol’ same ol’, prepare people.Let them know you’re on the hunt for new perspectives and ways of thinking. You’ll be surprised how many may want to join you.See More
