Anyway to monetize a vehicle with nearly 500,000 miles on it?

I am somewhat of an enigma - I drive a vehicle with over 400,000 miles on it (429,300 to be exact.) I drive it each day, and just last month, I drove it on a four hour trip to a conference. It's an ugly, beat up, and noticeable black 1994 Mazda B-4000 with a tan topper on the back of it.The fact that I drive something with that many miles on it seems to be something that "wows" most folks. Most folks don't get past 200,000, and even fewer get to 300,000 - yet mine, though it has some character,…See More

Profile Information

What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Currently, I work as a sales representative/customer service representative for a regional cellular provider. It is the BEST job that I think I have ever had. I honestly look forward to going to work in the morning. For many reasons, not just the money, this job is a tremendous blessing!
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
To be honest, I am still trying to determine that. I met Dan a little over a month ago, and, again, to be honest, I'd love to do 4 or 5 different things, such as be a Life Coach, own a restaurant, run a Bed and Breakfast, and maybe release comedy albums (to be the next Jerry Clower type person.) Oh yeah, I have a dessert that I want to market and sell too!
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My wife and I are working toward building our home. We have just a little bit more debt to put out of the way before we start evaluating what we're going to do. Oh yeah, and after six years of marriage, we're going to try to produce "little Jeremys" too.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Predominantly, I am a people person, who is strongly moved by compassion. The Lord has given me an almost "empathic" ability to be able to determine what others think and feel. I love certain aspects of the world of sales, and I REALLY love making others laugh. I am NOT an organized person, at least, not in the conventional sense.

Had you "ought to be ashamed?"

Posted on July 10, 2014 at 9:56pm 3 Comments

A lot of exciting things are happening in my life. While not everything is to be revealed at present, I can say that I have enrolled at Wallace Community College for the Fall semester, and, after 14 years, I am "going back" to school. I am not sure, at present, if I will take one or two classes, but I will hopefully decide next week.

In the midst of all the minor excitement and major nervousness, though, I must admit a…

A New Line of Cars?

Posted on January 20, 2014 at 7:34pm 3 Comments

One thing that I'd love to do, if I had the knowledge and resources, is to create my own vehicle line, and have the vehicle manufactured, from start to finish, here in the United States, with manufacturing plants put in some of the most destitute areas of the country, or areas where the major industry has already left, in order to revitalize those areas. I'd start in Abbeville, Alabama, Hazlehurt, GA, North Tennessee (Red Boiling Springs and Lafayette,) and just go from ther…

I don't like Celery.........

Posted on December 16, 2013 at 9:33pm 0 Comments

I don’t like Celery.

To me, celery is one of the nastiest tasting and smelling foods. My first experience to this food was when I was in kindergarten, when we tried to eat it with peanut butter on top of it. I probably thought “why mess up something as perfect as peanut butter with something as nasty as this celery thing?” Come to think of it, I would probably still think that.

I can’t stand Mayonnaise.

Now, without a doubt, Ketchup is my condiment of choice.…

"Ready to Die"

Posted on November 22, 2013 at 8:28pm 2 Comments

I would daresay to venture that all of us are about finding the "happy medium" in all of the 8 areas of our lives that Dan refers to so often.

So, with that being said - how do we make sure that we're ready to die?

Today, I am thankful for folks with yeast infections..............

Today………..I am thankful for people with yeast infections.

Now, before a bunch of folks kill me, I have to tell the story.  One of my “sidelines” has been selling online.  I recently had the opportunity to buy close to 90 boxes of Monistat 1, 3 and 7 for $1 each.  I have those listed for around $16-$20 each.  On the first day that this was made available, I sold 18 boxes.  After my selling agent keeps shipping fees and commissions, and after my original cost of goods sold, I am…

Hi Jeremy,

Tony sounds familar, but I'm not the best with names.  I had to learn over 900 names where I worked and their faces and I think it short circuiting my brain :).  I do know some  Tilley's in Pickens County and actually went to school with Joey and Nancy Tilley.  Joey was in my class.

Good morning Jeremy,

I haven't had a chance yet to welcome you to the community. You probably have already found this to be a pretty good place where ideas flow freely and people are eager to help.

Be sure and stop by our coaching circle and participate in this week's question of the week.
