High schools right now because that's my niche. But I think this strategy would work well in colleges, but I don't think you'd need to get students to pay for this. Why? Can you "student activities fees?" These types…"
"Excited for you Jeff!
If you can somehow do something creative with bees, I think that would be a great draw for elementary students (as long as they don't get stung :-). In all seriousness, that will probably be a hurdle you face with…"
"Great Idea. I will have to tweak it some for doing bees but I am not just staying in the bee business. I have been thinking about building into other things to speak on, like life coaching.
Thank you all again for the help.
"Thanks Justin for saying I'll chime in...you know me bro! And just as an FYI, I suggested Jeff post his question here. He left it as a regular comment, but I told him he'd get more traffic if he raised it as a discussion item. For all…"
"Every school system is struggling with money but nearly all of them are still brining in and paying well for speakers. I'm sure Kent will jump in here and let you know what he's doing in the school system in Atlanta.
Schools are still…"
Thank you for the reply.
My lovely wife and I are working to that ends. We want to build an age-truism sight, but for now we have to go to the school and not have them come here. Indiana is putting a great deal of money in to age- truism.…"
"I don't' know what it is like in Indiana but here in Georgia, there is very little money for anything extra like speakers or training in the schools. Teachers are being furloughed, schools are being closed and jobs are being eliminated.…"
"Most schools pay for speakers to come to their school. However, the hot topics are going to be bullying, drugs and alcohol, settting goals, etc. In fact the school probably has money that can only be used for dealing with topics like the above.…"
Does anyone know what schools will pay for you to come in and do a program for them, Elementary or middle school? I live in Indiana. I work for a school district and have done some speaking on beekeeping. I am looking for more things to do in the off season of beekeeping. Speaking and education is part of our mish ion statement. I am looking for help on standards and the like.thank youJeffSee More

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard about 48Days.net through the podcast. I hope to get ideas, support and information about building my business and evolving into an entrepenuer.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Currently I am employed full time, and have started building my business. I have signed 3 clients in my first month of active busines. We have started to develop cash flow, and are reinvesting to continue building our business.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
Our goal is to honor God, build a lasting legacy for our family and to have fun. To develop mentoring relationships as a Paul, as a Barnabas and Timothy. Build a 500 bee hive apiary, provide beekeeping service to 500 customers, produce 1000 Queen honeybees a year, and build a local agritourism business. Our agritourism business will provide tours and educational workshops for the public. In addition we will establish a retail store to sell honey, honey products, beekeeping supplies, and organic, native and heirloom plants, and organic gardening supplies.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My dream is to be able to go on mission trips , to teach other people about beekeeping, and to help other people to do so as well.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I know I like bees and enjoy working with them. I'm very good at problem solving, public speaking and teaching. People say I am a peacemaker.
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
We provide organically managed honeybee hives and year-long maintainence for the hives, for its health and honey production. The service contract includes honey extraction and bottling. Customer recieve the honey, all the benefits of having honey bees to pollinate their gardens and orchards, without the work. We also provide one on one mentoring, beekeeping workshops and of course Honey!!

I love your bee business and your goals of developing it fully. I just got a 32oz jar of honey from my next door neighbor - he keeps me stocked. I'm a big believer in the benefits of local honey. Keep us posted on your successes.
