Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love

We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.

But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.

48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.

If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Through your book, 48 Days. I hope to obtain some new ideas for marketing my business, I hope to help others and I want to toss around an idea for another stream of income for myself.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am currently an HR Analyst for our local county government. I have over 20 years of varying HR experience. I made a plan to work there for a total of 5 years at which time I want to be ready to work on my terms, i.e. self-employed (if not sooner).
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I would like to create various scrapbooking products and sell on-line and through craft fairs. My vision is to make the world of scrapbooking more meaningful. I want it to be easy for people to create a page AND record their memories. I would also like to have time to volunteer at some nursing homes and host craft classes (free of course) with the elderly.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I love working but want to step out of the 9 to 5 routine and gain flexibility. I would like to financially provide additional income into our household so we can finish remodeling our fixer-upper. Eventually, we would like to obtain a house in the mountains for summer getaways.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am open, friendly and easy to talk to. I think out of the box. I also really enjoy educating others and public speaking.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
Working on it!

Decision time is made

If anyone looks back over my blog, my posts, etc. I look like I'm all over the map in 'what I want to be when I grow up.'

I'm passionate about memory keeping and paper crafting.  I love to make things (that makes me an artist) and I really want to teach people on how to record their memories without the pressure of 'scrapbooking'.  Women hear that word - scrapbooking - and they immediately think of these fancy, beautiful pages that conjures up the thought, "I can't possibly do that -…

Getting Started

Posted on June 4, 2014 at 3:02am 1 Comment

I think I want to be a career coach.  And like I posted in the discussions group, I wanted to start in the area of interviewing/resume writing, etc.  But how do I know I want to coach or can actually be a coach?  It's scary to just pick another career (in my opinion).  So yesterday I did something about it.  Through my current employer, I had called our EAP and yesterday had my…

It's funny how things start to fall in your lap when you focus on something you want. So my story today begins.....

The company where I currently work is owned by a friend & colleague. It's just her and I in this business and we're struggling. Sales are down, but they are for our competitors, too. We had a talk today about trying to stay afloat and she's not making any promises that she can keep the doors open, but she's going to do everything in her power to do so, even if she has… Continue

I signed up for this a year ago when I was unemployed. I fooled around with an interviewing consulting service and it ended up morphing into a full-time job as a Business Development Manager with a local staffing company. This job is fun as I get to go out into the community and work with employers and trying to help them out. I write a monthly newsletter, market, market, market and work with key local organizations. I feel this job was put before me to help me 'come out of my shell'… Continue

Jan -- Welcome to 48Days.net. And thanks for already being a reader of my book.

You’ll find this to be a warm, encouraging and innovative group here. If you’re looking for an idea – just stick around. This group is full of great ideas and strategies to make them come to life. There are a whole lot of career coaches here. Looks like you've got a great niche in doing interview coaching.

I'm going to be adding more focus specifically for coaches in the next couple of weeks. We’re glad you joined us! -- Dan Miller – 48 Days

Hi Jan,
Sorry about that, I read your location too fast. I must have had my daughter on my mind and just didn't read your location carefully. Many years ago Palm City was one of the locations for the GoKart racing circuit I used to do with my father-in-law. They still live down in Boca Raton.
