Calling all men to enjoy “Wild Places”

I want to encourage men to get out into wild places.  I see many men and young men these days afraid of, or unfamiliar with, the wilderness.  It is important to go there for renewal and focus.  I understand how hard it is to carve out time for you.  We are so busy with our jobs, families, church work, yard work, and life in general that we don’t, as men, go to the woods alone.  We are also insulated from wild places in our suburban and city homes.  It takes more time and effort to get to these…See More

What I want men to get from Fatherhood, Faith and the Outdoors

What do I want men to get from this?I want men to get out into and enjoy the wilderness.  I want them to enjoy the sounds, sights and smells of nature.  I want them to be comfortable there and not be afraid.  I want them to go with purpose to connect with our Lord.  This may be either to hear their divine calling for the first time or to reconnect and be re-focused and encouraged to continue their journey with the Lord.  We all have a divine calling or callings to help others in many ways.  I…See More

Fatherhood, Faith, and the Outdoors

I feel a strong and consistent calling to get men outdoors.  There is a huge outdoor deficit among men today.  They are afraid or intimidated or just don’t get how important it is.

I also see a huge father hunger among men for their own fathers, and doubts about fathering their own children.

My Christian faith has never been stronger, but I am so frustrated with organized churches.  Jesus went to the wilderness, or went up a mountain or off by himself to reconnect with his…
