"Will this be a printed brochure or "ebrochure"? If it's printed, I'd expect some copy to go with it.   In general, I'd say it's not clear what you're doing. You show photos, yet are selling a…"

Wanting feedback for brochure

Hi folks, I've been working on a business idea and without giving anything away I'd like feedback on a brochure I've designed as one of my marketing tools for it. I'm interested in whether or not you understand what I'm offering and if you think the brochure is compelling.Any other feedback is also appreciated. Thanks, Gary  See More

using iPhone to send large files to FTP sites?

I'm doing google searches as well but wanted to check with the experts here too. Here's the deal—I'm moving and it's a very high probability that I'll only have dial up. Since I'm a graphic designer and starting a video production business I need to send very large files to printers/publishers/my own FTP sites. I would like to place the .zip file on my iphone (3Gs—32 gig) and upload/download the files at a wifi hotspot in town.Is this possible?See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Kevin Miller told me about it. I hope to learn how to make a business profitable and help others do the same.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I'm self employed as a graphic designer having spent eight years in a publishing house doing book, DVD, and CD covers as well as ads.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I am starting a video production company with a focus on making my own information videos and selling them online. My first video launch will is titled "Home Theater Defined" and explains what hi-definition and surround sound is, what you need to buy and where you can cut corners. As a former custom home theater installer and sound engineer I'm in a unique position to answer the many questions I still receive regarding all the formats available.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My calling is my video business. As a single man I can devote much more time to my business without sacrificing my relationships with friends and family.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I love helping people and solving problems. Whatever project I'm working on, whether a book cover, promotional video, or sound equipment question for a church, I love figuring out the best possible solution for them.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?
http://www.garowksi.com
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I've been a life long and passionate hunter. As a result I've started a hunting website where hunters can gather and share their hunting stories through writing, photos, and videos. It's not so much focused on the kill but on the relationships we've built and the memories we create.

Hi Wendy, that sounds awesome! We have someone in our church who paints large canvases for us and it adds so much to our worship. Let me know how I can help with your video.

HI everyone, I've recently moved and it's taken 6 weeks to get internet access to my new place so sorry about not keeping in touch as often as I would like. Hopefully things are in order now and I can participate on a more regular basis.

Hiya Gary,
Just saying hello. I saw that you are a Graphic Designer. Cool!
I am a visual artist, painting mostly canvases on commission, for fundraising exhibitions, or in creative worship at church.
I have a video of me painting in church that I'd like to edit down from an hour to 3 - 4 mins... yeah I know, big ask, so I may need to call on you soon!
Cheers
Wendy

Hi Eli, I use Final Cut Pro on a Mac but as far as "Windows Media Server" it's for storing your video and media files for use with a web server, not particularly for home use. Although I'm sure one could configure it for that purpose there are much cheaper options out there for home use, all of which would take quite a bit of technical know-how.

HI Gary, I am not to far from you. Do you have any experience with Windows Media Server? I guess you can put all your movies and pictures on it and TV and run it to your TV.

I'm crazy about relationships, my video business, music, and hunting—in that order. But really, relationships with my friends and God are the foundation for everything else. Without them the rest seems bland.
