Finding my passion by elimination
Over the last six months or so I have seen by experiance that I do not want to be a wedding videographer for a side business. After two weddings that I just completed last week I know that this is not my passion. I instead know that I want to persue something in programming. The biggest question is how to I make money at this with my current skill set? I am an analytical chemist by trade, and that is my current 40hr a week job. - I heard about 48days.net from the 48 days podcast. I hope to define and focus where I am going with my career.
- What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
- Employed at a Toxicology lab testing for drugs of abuse.
- And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
- Want to be more focused on programming, and making solution based applications for companies.
- How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
- Continueing a thriving bible fellowship, and focus on being a good father and husband.
- What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
- I excel at optimizing practices, figuring out a better way to accomplish a task. I am very analytical, and able to troubleshoot technology quickly and effectively.
