Anyone Evernote savvy? I'm having an issue.

Is anyone out there a savvy Evernote user? I use the Evernote basic service (free version), and am a regular clipper (almost daily). Suddenly my clipper isn't working right. When I hit the clipper, the Evernote dialogue box opens, but the notebooks don't load, so I can't complete the clipping step. I've logged out and back in, but no change. Anyone have a clue what might be wrong? See More

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Got an announcement/invite because I'm a subscriber to the 48Days newsletter.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I am a freelance writer and editor. I do some contract writing work for a web design company, and in early 2012, signed on as an editor with Sterling & Stone, a new digital publishing company.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My goal is to be fully self-employed and continuing to earn an income working with words.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
Write and publish a novel. Get a master's degree.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I'm a planner, a thinker, an idea person and highly conceptual. I lead by example rather than delegate or lead from the front. I tend to be a quick learner and self-starter, and am a loyal team member. I have good administrative and organizational skills and am a good "people person" even though I'm more of an introvert than extrovert. I'm also a pretty decent cook.

Slim Down Your Writing Part 2: Avoiding Expletives

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 7:37am 0 Comments

In an earlier post, Slim Down Your Writing, I discussed three easy ways to slim down and tighten up your writing: use fewer words, use the active voice, and control your use of adjectives and adverbs.

Today's post is Part 2 of slimming down and tightening up, and covers expletives. You're likely familiar with the more common definition of…

Getting to the Core

Posted on February 11, 2011 at 11:34am 0 Comments

A number of years ago, when hubby and I were dating and I was still a poor college student, he valiantly volunteered to make repairs to my car, which had a dead heater core. (If you’ve ever replaced a heater core, you may be chuckling at this point.) It’s a good thing he was smitten with me, because by the time he reached the heater core, his conclusion was that when the car was manufactured, the heater core was mounted into the empty frame, and the rest of the vehicle built around…

Blessed, No Matter What

Posted on January 28, 2011 at 7:21am 1 Comment

Today is my birthday -- not necessarily an exciting event, because I've now reached the ripe old age of 49 -- so, the celebratory aspect of today is not the point of my post here.

My day began about an hour ago, and now that lunches are made, hubby and the teenager are off to work and school, dogs and cats are fed, laundry is going, and the dishwasher is unloaded, I've sat down at my computer to finish my cup of coffee. I opened up my e-mail to find a beautiful assortment of…

Thank you Diane - I hope you have a blessed rest of your week as well - I am looking forward to preparing to celebrate my son Matt's 26th birthday this weekend - he and his fiance will be visiting for the weekend - so that's my main focus this week!

Diane - I had to touch base with you after last night's call - I found it pretty interesting that you mentioned several times that you were not as far along as I am - I saw your post to Rob describing where you are and where you plan to go and I thought - wow she has it so together!  I honestly went into the call feeling a little intimidated by all of you!!  Funny how we perceive ourselves in relation to others isn't it?  I look forward to getting to know you better and definitely learning from you!

Hi Diane,

Always good to hear from you and thank you for sharing.

Just curious, what are some of the "should-dos" that keep finding their way back into your thinking and quiet times?

Hi Diane,

Good to hear from you. Thank you for getting back.

So please fill me in. What are you learning or discovering about yourself?

Erin and I are incredibly excited about the release of Finding your Voice and our publishing arrangement with Sound Wisdom. We are scheduled to release on Nov 5.

By the way, here is a link to my other Finding your Voice community. For some people it works out better since you're able to post from you phone. It's a Google community which means no long lines, no time-consuming forms to fill out, one click and you are there. Take a peek when you get a chance.

Here are some of the authors and experts we've had on our show. Hopefully you can find some more guidance here.

Hi Diane,

So glad you've joined up in the Finding your Voice group.

The best way to learn how the group works is to get involved in the discussion. We have an exciting one going on right now. We are encouraging and holding each other accountable in journaling our "successes" and "safety steps". Just like life - no lurkers, only participants.

They'll be an option for you to join the group if you haven't already. You'll probably find that option at the top middle or right hand side of the page once you get there.

See you in the discussion.
