Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
My parents gave me Dan's book "48 days" after going to one of his talks. The information I have received through his podcast and books have been insightful as I grow my design business.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Currently employed with an Architecture firm as an environmental designer. I started my own design business approximately one year ago. I focused on graphics and marketing for start-ups, non-profits, and businesses that have meaning.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My personal mission statement:

Helping those with meaningful, purpose-driven ideas become successful through remarkable design and marketing.

"Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground." ~ Wilfred Peterson
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I want to enjoy my family and children now. I want to live a balanced lifestyle so I don't neglect my family.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I have a creative eye for design. However, I think my gift is developing new and fresh ways of presenting ideas.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?

If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:

Welcome Derek,

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

One thing I noticed on your profile is you have read "48 Days". That is a great book.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian

Welcome Derek! I like your mission statement. Targeting your market to include "businesses that have meaning" is a very interesting idea - perhaps even a niche. How are you currently prospecting for new business?
