Something to Ponder

Here is something to ponder. You do not like what you do for work everyday. You really enjoy doing what you do at church in serving the Lord. The latter doesn't pay because you are serving in a volunteer position but has come to the point where it takes up at least a part time position time wise. You have tried researching the position you really enjoy and find it doesn't pay well and most of the positions are part time. You talk to you Pastor about what do I do when I dislike my current job so…See More

Where to go

I've been doing some really good studies in the word. Have been lead to play bass on both worship teams at church and I am the AV Team leader. Feel like I am being called to be the worship director. The problem I am having is we just lost our worship leader and now have two new worship leaders. Both are long time members of the church. Doing the scheduling, working with the leaders and the teams is a great thing and I really love o do it. I have a vision for were worship should go within the…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
Friend on Facebook
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Currently I am an automotive technician. Employed by a small Ford Dealership. I have disliked the politics and issues of this career for the past 15 years or so. I do it to get by because it is a fair pay check. I am in the process of trying to find my niche. My Passion.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
My goal/dream was to start a roller skating rink. My family and I were in the process when we purchased all the equipment needed, the lease deal fell through and the economy tanked. Anyways. I have let this discourage me. I am in the process of listening to the No More Mondays Audio book and going through 48 days. I do want to turn my life around and do something I enjoy doing for a living. We have since sold most of the roller rink equipment and are planning to move on.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
My family and I would like to move to Oregon closer to my wifes famliy. Hopefully my parents who are in California will eventually move there also. (They were going to move to Arizona a year or two after us but it never happened) We have been in AZ for about 6 years now. My Goal is to learn what my calling is and begin to build a business that will allow me to work mostly from home (This way when it comess time to move the business can go with us). I really enjoy Music, Audio Mixing - especially Live music, playing bass and teaching others about all of these.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I really do not know. I do know as a kid I would always take things apart to see how they work. I enjoy music, mixing sound, lighting, playing my bass, learning the piano, drums and other intruments. As a child I always wanted to play drums and sax but got stuck with the clarinet. That ended my journey in music.

I am in the process of putting together a sound training curriculum/booklet to provide to others as well as many more Audio Technician related ideas.

David, welcome to the Embracing Introvertedness group. I hope you find the group helpful and encouraging.

On a side note, have you ever had a chance to read a Mackie mixer manual? You can tell they were written by an actual human and are even a little comedic.

Hi David,

Thank you for writing back and sharing. I appreciate your trust and confidence.

If you'd like, we can carve out some time to chat. That way I can get a better understanding of your situation and how we can help.

It is usually easiest for you to talk in the morning, or is afternoon/evening better in your schedule?
