Good evening everyone,
I just wanted to share that I had my first speaking engagement with the Rotary Club here in San Antonio, Florida. It was about my stroke story and seemed to touch the folks there. It was a learning experience for me as well and can't wait for the next sharing time. The post below is short and sweet, but the story can be found there as well. See what you think and post a comment there if you like.
Thanks and God bless!!!…

Hi everyone,
I have finally published my site, albeit not quite complete, as of this past Sunday night. It is the one year anniversary of my stroke and admittance to the hospital.
Please take a look and give me your opinion, thoughts, comments and if you think it might help someone, please pass it on. It is not my story to keep to myself, even though I am the one that went through this "catastrophic" event. I…

So, who do you want to be and why? I was out on my lunch walks and for some odd reason this came to mind. For quite some time, through various conversations, reading and listening, I have heard this more than once in a while; so I thought this might be something to delve into a bit. I will tell you my thoughts more towards the end, so just bear with me.
What is so special about someone else, other than you yourself? What does this “other person” have that you don’t? Is it the…

Benjamin Lotter said… Darren, welcome to the Doing Drupal Websites group. Drupal is fun and powerful and definitely better learned among friends.
Lesley Sobeck said… Thanks for your inspirational comment! The older I get the more I'm realizing that life needs to be more about balance and what makes you happy rather than complete dedication to an income career.
Justin Lukasavige said… Thanks, Darren. I hope the price is right. ;)
Staying at the top of your creativity is key. I generate a lot of ideas but end up tossing most as I develop them further. Good thing I have a lot!
The thing you'd likely enjoy there is the Wednesday and Friday features. Tips and techniques to help you connect, build, and engage with your community.
In the techniques section I talk a lot about using wordpress to the fullest with plugins, techniques to make it faster, etc.
If there's every anything I can do to help, let me know.
Oh, I am adding a 7 day free subscription to the site. Should be live quickly.
Justin Lukasavige said… My pleasure, Darren. I just launched a cool service to keep you motivated and inspired to blog consistently. Can you tell me what you think about http://needatopic.com?
Members have been raving about it since I launched in January.
If I can help, let me know.
Justin Lukasavige said… That grown up comment made me laugh. :)
Good looking site. I would encourage you to blog at least once every week. If you do it less your community could think you forgot about them. Plus, if they're subscribed, they might forget who you are!
