If you could choose the way you die, what would you choose? quick, or you've got 6 months to live!

This probably sounds morbid to some but let me explain. I've heard people say, when it's my time to go, I hope it happens in my sleep, or it's sudden, quick etc.Usually I've heard that from someone who has been around an aging parent or grandparent and had to watch them die. I recall a preacher who once preached a sermon on, there are worse things than death! Many times a person might say this because they don't want to be a burden on anyone, let alone the ones they love most.In the book, The…See More

In Golf as in Life, It's the Follow thru that Counts!

Posted on July 14, 2014 at 5:40pm 3 Comments

A passion of mine for some time has been golf. There are many life lessons I've learned from the game and have been fortunate to share with others. I was recently named head coach of the boys golf team at our local high school and am doing a sports camp next week at our local church camp.

You see many swings on the golf course but the one that is probably the most flawed is a lack of follow thru. If a person doesn't…

Truth is truth, but History is what's recorded!

I read this in a book written by Andy Andrews some time ago and find myself often coming back to it. So much so that I turned it into a Sunday School lesson the past 2 weeks and need another week to finish.

In Andy's book, How do you kill 11 million people, he takes you back to the Holocaust, and explains as only he can exactly how it was done. The short answer is you Lie to them!

Without giving you all the details let me share a short story that happened years ago in my work…

Quality versus Quantity?

Posted on May 21, 2014 at 2:22pm 4 Comments

We've all heard this comparison time and again. Usually it's an excuse when we can't give the time to something important, many times our children, we'll justify it saying, well it's quality not quantity. Once I heard someone say would you accept that with your steak. Imagine you pay $30 for a choice steak but when it's delivered to your table it's one bite. The waiter says it's the best bite you'll ever have! Does that make a difference?

I heard an interesting take…

Hi Chris,

You saw correctly. I started a group here on 48days several years ago called "Strengthen My Spiritual Life", but recently retired it to focus more intentionally on my website ministry: ReflectiveBibleStudy.com.

Thanks for asking and sending me the message.
