Welcome to The Wellness Workshop!

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
We heard about 48days.net at a meeting at Dan's house in November, it was just getting ready to launch.

One thing I am getting out of this group is learning how to participate in an on-line community. We are in the process of expanding to working on line in addition to face to face and class coaching.

Business development is another issue we are working on and learning from others in this community.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
We have been in business in an office for the past 3 years, coaching people to good health by detoxifying their body and changing to a whole-food diet.

We are in the middle of a decision to change to a web-based coaching practice and do our face to face in seminars, clubs, retreats.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
We would love to be able to do seminars, meetings, schools and retreats. We would also love to do a TV or radio show and develop associates similar to Dave Ramsey model.
We would love to develop and teach a curriculum to kids about eating whole foods for health.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
In our personal lives we would love to pay cash for our home, be completely debt free and have time to spend with family and friends. We enjoy snow mobiling, snow skiing, movies and music.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Phil: Truth and encouragement. Phil is an influencer. He could sell a one legged man a pair of shoes. He is also a gifted musician. Phil's personal dream is to be able to play music for a living and encourage people to be healthy as a lifestyle.

Celeste: Motivation and encouragement: Celeste is also an influencer but more of the soft kind, people do what she says when they learn from her. Celeste loves to help anyone whether they can pay or not, to be healthy, to be creative with time and talent. To teach women how to cook, shop, feed their children, love their husbands and manage their home.

Celeste and Phil!!! Hey guys... thank YOU for the friendship!

I am actually writing you back about something that you put on Kent Julian's Speak It Forward forum right here on 48days.net. Y'all (yeah, I'm from the South) were asking about various aspects of your business... pricing and partnering with a corporation. Now, unfortunately, I don't really have any information for you. But I am intrigued by your business.

In 2008, I was the winner of the People Magazine Weight Loss challenge. Kind of a "off-brand" biggest loser. The show was on ABC and had 8 people from the state of Mississippi that were trying to change their lives and lose some weight. Over the course of about 7 months I lost about 85lbs. Since then, I have kept it off. I have continued to work out and now regularly train for running events from 10K to Half-Marathons. It has been a BIG change from how my life was before.

I got to know Kent through 48days.net and then attended his speakers boot camp, "Speak it Forward" this past October. I am writing a book and am looking forward to the day that I can effect (or affect- I can never get it straight) other people's lives and tell them how they can change their lives.

So, starting in November, I began the most difficult part of being a speaker... and that is trying to get booked.The speaking is easy.

In your Nov 23rd post, you said: 'We have been doing corporate health fairs this fall, 10 in two months and have developed relationships with the wellness coordinators and found they all had the same complaint...."our people aren't taking advantage of our wellness programs".' My question for you is: I WOULD LOVE TO SPEAK at corporate health fairs. Has it been your experience that they pay for speakers? How do I find out about them? How do I find these "wellness coordinators"?

Any and all advice you could give me would be great? Thanks!!!
