"Hello new to the group. I am kind of a want to be writer ever since high school and I'm in my early fifty's now. In high school I actually got a biography publish in a school project. My dream of writing was put on the back burner and…"
"So far all I've found is www.Blurb.com - which looks really good except that you have to use their creator tool to format and upload your book. You can import an .rtf format document into the tool, so that helps, but the learning curve is…"
"I've looked in to LuLu - there's no option to put a widget on my site where customers can buy the book directly from them (without me in the middle having to place orders). That's the main thing I'm looking for. Thanks though…"
My main desire is the ability to allow customers to purchase my hard-copy books without me having to turn around and order it for them from CS or someplace else. I want it automated so that when they order a book, someone else takes the…"
"I know I'm getting in on this thread a little late, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in as well. I'm not a published writer and until about 7-8 months ago, the entire realm of writing/publishing/storytelling was foreign and…"
Nope, no replies to this query. I think I'm going to try out Blurb with an upcoming book to see how it works. cost-per-book is higher (around $6.00 for the size book I'm releasing) but having the widget on my own site seems worth…"
Have you gotten any replies to this privately? I just don't know of any that have widgets, but there could be some out there. I just use Amazon links right now on my sites. In the past I've used ebay's BUY NOW buton when…"
"Fun thread--thanks for starting it, Carey! It's great to find a fiction writers' thread here as most of what I've come across has been nonfiction.
I've been writing professionally (freelance journalism/copywriting for…"
"Hey Carey - I haven't used blurb, but checked out the site and it looks interesting. I've used CreateSpace, but like knowing about other options, so would appreciate you sharing anything you learn. I'll be sure to do likewise.…"
How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I've heard Dan on multiple podcasts and interviews. He's very inspiring and I love the way he fosters community. I wanted to be part of that kind of community. I desire to contribute whatever I can and learn from others.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
Self-employed, entrepreneur. My business is mainly from on-line enterprises - podcast production, book sales, study course sales, character coaching, Christian counseling.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I desire to utilize my non-passion pursuits to enable my passion pursuits and provide for my family. I also dream of that becoming a source by which I can practice generosity to those in need and come alongside those who are not quite as far down the road as I am.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I'm a husband, dad, and Grand-pop... I want to become more effective and faithful in all of those roles, as well as being a friend and mentor to those around me.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I'm a teacher first and foremost. The good LORD has gifted me that way. I love to produce various types of teaching tools (books, blog, curriculum, courses).
Welcome to the 48days.net community Carey! You will find encouragement and support as you grow your platform or gain clarity for your next career. I'd love to have you join my group, purposeful, passionate, and prosperous where we share strategies, struggles, and victories in our businesses and careers. You could also visit my website movedbypurpose.net
I'm a practicing dentist and Christian personal finance blogger. I teach people how to get out of debt and lead a fuller, richer life, free from the constraints that financial bondage imposes on their lives. I have an online course, and a short book on how to make a budget that works available.
My goal is to build this platform into a significant presence in the personal finance space.
PS In case you're interested, I offer Goal-Setting That Actually Works! to those join the SHOW UP AND SHINE Movement (both are free). You can join by using the box at the top right side of any page on the Live It Forward website. I think you'll get a ton out of both resources.

Welcome to the 48Days community. We are glad you are here. My name is John Henderson. I like to take some time each week and welcome new visitors.
You will find this place to be a wealth of advice and information. You can read blogs by other members, start your own, jump into a discussion in the forums, join one of the great groups for a more focused conversation and much more.
I am the group leader of Lifewise Transitions. We help people realize their dreams by giving them focused advice on their specific obstacle. Does technology, motivation, focus, your past or any other hurdle stand in your way? We can help.
I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.
I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!
Finally, it sounds like you are interested in writing. If so, consider joining the Write It Forward. There are some great discussions going on that will likely be very profitable for you.
Plus, you might want to check out Speak It Forward as well. It's another group I'm involved with that has a lot of activity taking place.
Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!
