Help with Promotional Sales

I have been playing in promotional sales for the last few years. My wife and I made a little over $15,000 last year. This year I am doing it full time, but now that it is for real, it feels like I do not know much. I have read Selling 101 and the Art of Closing the Sale, but I feel like my introduction is weak, I have a hard time getting to the decision maker, and we sale thousand of promotional supplies (cups, hats, shirts, pens, etc.) so how do I give focus to what I am doing?
