Poinsettias surrounded us by the dozens. Evergreen garland was draped from the balcony on all sides. Hundreds of white lights adorned the twenty foot Christmas tree. The soft glow of candlelight emitted an amber radiance. My family and I were in Pittsburgh this past weekend to celebrate my Mom’s 78th birthday. It was nice to be in my native surroundings and to spend time with those I love. Mom got the opportunity to meet the newest member of the family, her great granddaughter, Naomi. No gift could be more appreciated by her.
