I've spent a bit of time wondering about work vs. calling. I've written my thoughts before on these topics on my personal blog. Here's a few links:
Yes these include beliefs and I mention things about God, so if you don't like that, I wouldn't read.

Joel Boggess said… Hi Brandon,
Good to hear from you.
I'm curious, was Paul's calling to preach the Gospel? Or was preaching just one of the vehicles he used to fulfill his calling, (which was probably a lot bigger)?

That's a tough outlook. How has that worked for you?

Good blog post. I hope you also post it in the blog forum here.
I'm curious, in your heart, do you deserve to have a better life; one where you are doing the work you love and making a difference in a way that makes a difference for you?

Good to hear from you. That's a very good academic definition of the Strengths Finder. I guess the next question is: How do you put wheels underneath it?

Great to have you in the Pursuing Your Calling group. I looked at your website, I am no designer but I love the clean look in your designs. By the way, I used to live in Knoxville, I worked at the Alcoa plant until they closed so I decided to move back home to Kansas City.
Joel Boggess said… Hi Brandon -- Welcome to the 48 Days community. We're glad you joined.
This is the idea and social networking site for people that want to create their own opportunity.
I am a big fan of the Strengths Finder. We use it with all our clients. I'm curious, what would you say is the key to tapping into some of the information it gives you?
Depending on what your interests are, there is a wide selection of discussion groups to get involved with. if you are interested in getting in touch with the purpose and calling that is on your life, here is the link to ours, finding your voice.

Kent Julian said… Welcome Brandon,
I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.
One thing I noticed on your profile is your business seems to be going along very well. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!
Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:
* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!
Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!
Live it forward,
Kent Julian

I appreciate your honesty in your profile about having dreams crushed. We all do....but not everybody admits it :)
If interested, check out our Pursuing Your Calling group....we wrestle w/ what it means for God to have a calling in our lives there....
