How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I've been listening to Dan's weekly podcast and am intrigued with it. I guess I am seeking encouragement and direction since I was let go of my student minister job this past January 2017?
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I do work as an instructor at Birmingham Theological Seminary in Montgomery, AL, but it is not a full time job and I was let go from my full time job (as a student minister) in January of 2017.
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
Preacher, Teacher, Professor, Coach, Helper. This are the words that describe me best regarding my passion and skills for a vocation
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
Would like to lead my family spiritually better than I am doing. Specifically, would like to lead in family worship and "catechism" (Baptist) time with my young children.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I am primarily a teacher and a preacher. I am an analytical thinker and think in "big-picture" terms. I am a "people person," but also enjoy the world of ideas, especially theology, philosophy, and apologetics.
Are you interested in finding a better job, starting a business, growing your current business, writing a book, blogging, podcasting, coaching, speaking, sales & marketing, or something else?
Yes...current project is refining a book I've written and getting it published. Next, I would like to get my blogging website a little more refined. I might be interested in podcasting at some point and, as a long shot, I could see myself doing some "coaching" on the side, as a way to supplement my income, regarding some of these principles in the 48 days genre. I have never really been one interested in "business" as I have been trained to be, and have been, a minister for the past 9+ years, but my recent resignation has caused me to think a little more about other options. I am open to the idea of a being a professor (seeking to begin PhD work if admitted) and lead pastor too. I am simply seeking what my next step is.
