Hello,My THINKING CAP works well for ideas for others.....the ideas for me feel like Porky Pig stuttering in my head. I still work full-time, and have a "lot on my plate" right now. Self-care, home, car, pets, wow....I already know that I am by my…Continue

I work at a small private college. I had a former student call me today. She finished a class THREE years ago and hadn't found a job in that area. She is working, but wanted to use this other skill as an add-on part time job perhaps......so blah,…Continue

I know something. If you want to do work you love you have to think differently. You have to have a more open mind than the average "Joe". Just imagine a new product that comes to market. The entire way it gets in your hands is the result of how someone or a group of "someones" thought. More than likely, it was a group of folks that helped produce something new, exciting and innovative. Take your cell phone…

Yes, I work at XYX agency, BUT WHAT I REALLY love is dogs.
This was the beginning of a conversation I had with a man who came to my office for a meeting.
We ended up talking about all things dog related for a very long time. He talked breeding, ownership, The Westminster dog show, training,…

I recently started taking hot yoga classes in earnest. I'm usually flying through life at a rapid pace. Yoga gives me a chance to slow down, but still work hard, and effectively. One particular instructor said something in a class today that I heard her say last week, but it HIT me today. "Stretch.....like you are reaching for something you really want." I often think of the show "Mission Impossible". There…

A few days ago a young lady came into my office to inquire about a training program. I looked at her and said very matter-of-factly, "You are smarter than that." I begin to ask her questions like I always do, and she continued to tell me she didn't know what she wanted to do.
I wasn't buying it for one minute. I could see much more in her than she even imagined. I gently nudged her with more questions and she FINALLY started talking about what she already had been doing and…

Suzanne Holman said… Hi Bernice,
Funny you should mention my considering a career as a medical researcher. I've always liked the medical field very much, but since my chronic illness diagnosis (and even more so over the past few years), I've been more inclined to seek careers from home. Right now, I've been leaning towards the executive recruiting industry which includes physician recruitment. It's a tough industry, so I'm praying that I can make this work. There are a lot of financial and career rewards that go along with it. You have a keen awareness, though. I appreciate your feedback.
