Hey folks,I am toying with the idea of striking out on my own becoming a part-time freelance editor/proofreader.  From the market rates I see, I could increase my income 20-25% working 5 hours a week!  I am trying to attack my debt and pay off the huge tax bill I got (don't get me started!) and be DEBT FREE (so close)!!!  It would combine my love of reading and writing.  So here are my questions:1.  I don't have an English/communications/journalism degree, but I do have a BA and MA in French…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I heard of this community through the book. I love the fact this is a supportive, non-judgmental place to bounce ideas off people and to just vent. Hopefully as my ideas coalesce I can get more feedback.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
I work for my State and only work 40 hours a week. WOOHOO!
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I am currently working with a career coach and I hope the answer to this question is coming soon!
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
Running a 5K, finding a volunteer gig, regularly posting to my blog and researching my first book.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
Gallup says I am Input, Empathy, Intellection, Developer and Context. On the DISC scale, I am a very high C, a high S and a low D and I. I am in the process of unpacking what the means :)

Welcome Ann!

I try to take time each week to welcome new members to 48Days.Net. So, let me say "welcome" to you! I know you will find this to be a great site filled with people who are experiencing true success in both life and work.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the best places to connect with other liked-minded people here is in the GROUPS section. There are groups for just about every interest you can think of, and if you can't find a group that interests you, you can start one. Groups are my favorite part of 48Days.Net!

Finally, if you happen to be a speaker or author (or want to become either), check out these two groups. They are two of the most popular groups on the site because of all the great conversation taking place:

* Speak It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Speakers!
* Write It Forward -- REAL Success and Profit for Writers!

Again, enjoy 48Days.Net. It's a great place to be!

Live it forward,
Kent Julian
