How did you hear about 48Days.NET, and what do you hope to get out of being a part of this community?
I learned about it after reading No More Mondays.
What is your current work situation? Employee, self-employed, generating any income on your own?
And then...what is your goal/dream for your work life?
I would like to be my own boss, self-employed or start my own business.
How about your personal life? Any specific goals or achievements or dreams you are pursuing (or want to pursue)?
I'd like to go to work and not feel like I'm going to work. I'd love to have a more flexible schedule to spend time with my family as well.
What would you say are your strongest talents? How are you 'wired' and what can you offer to the world (it's OK if you don't know yet, but knowing is key to pursuing your dreams!)?
I'm technical. Sometimes I can see an idea, but unfortunately, I don't have the confidence to act on it.
Do you have a website presence anywhere?
If you have a product or service to promote (now or in the near future) this is your shot to state it! Say all you'd like:
I started the site www.planningtosave.com. I love saving money and I wanted to share different financial ideas with others.

The Security Gland

Posted on September 7, 2013 at 4:53pm 0 Comments

I think I've finally come to the realization that I don't really want to work for someone else. I've done it now for a while and it's been okay, but ultimately at the end of the day, I want to be in control of my destiny and how much I can make.

However, I'm not sure that my wife agrees with me on this. She hasn't come out and said it, but I get a feeling that insecurity starts creeping in when talk about having our own business or striking it out on our own comes up. I'm not entirely…

Business Liability/Malpractice Insurance

Posted on December 16, 2010 at 7:59am 0 Comments

Our insurance policy is up for renewal Jan. 1. We're kind of up in the air as to whether or not we should renew it. The business is just a side business and we netted about $2500 last year. I believe our insurance policy was about $500 last year. It seems kind of crazy to have an insurance policy that is 20% of our net profits. In our business, we have been doing technology consulting, which includes web sites, computer repair and setup, network setup, and pretty much anything else you can…

Starting a Coffee/Ice Cream shop

Posted on July 25, 2010 at 10:16am 4 Comments

I live in a small town of about 2000 people. I've really wanted to start a coffee or ice cream shop in the town as a place where people can gather and meet. We'd offer free wireless internet. The only problem is that I don't know much about coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker and don't really like what I've had of it. Of course I like ice cream (who doesn't).

I guess I'm just wondering if this is a feasible option. I've talked to someone else in town that has had a similar plan and they… Continue

Company vs Personal E-mail

Posted on June 3, 2010 at 8:41pm 0 Comments

As we were transitioning email accounts from one email server to our new one today, I realized a practice that companies use may be hurting more than helping them. Most companies, big or small, have some sort of policy in place around Internet or email usage, saying that it should be used for work only and not personal. The companies then proceed to block personal email sites, and other sites they may find as "time wasters".

Despite these policies, many people start…

I want to model this mastermind group after the one Dan has just started. I want weekly meetings online. And then once a quarter have a meet-up. This is where the mastermind becomes unique. I would like to have a speaker come and speak to the group. What do you think? Do you like this idea? I want to limit the group to 50 people.

It’s great to have you here at 48Days.net!

This is a great place to get direction on working in your passion.

You might like the group Clearing the Hurdle. I started it for folks who are determined to find the career or build the business of their dreams, but have to get over some personal financial hurdles first. You’ll probably enjoy the conversations we have going on there.

I’m excited that you’re a part of 48Days.net!
