If you’re new to the 48Days.net community – welcome. This is an amazing group of people who are not content with mediocrity in their work – or anywhere in their lives. You’ll find the members here share their resources and expertise willingly and also share your excitement when you succeed.
We are seeing an explosion of books being published, speakers being booked, coaches filling their schedules, artists finding new ways to market their work, musicians leveraging their talent and creative businesses from podcasting to dry cleaning pickup to muscle car restoration being launched successfully.
I’m thrilled as I see more people who are finding their true calling and applying that in work that is meaningful, purposeful – and profitable. If you’re still in that process, be encouraged; you can do what many others here have done.
I just talked to another couple this morning who are going to join us for the Wisdom Meets Passion Cruise. Joanne and I just got back from Hilton Head Island and will be in Vail, CO next week where I'll be speaking at the Launch Conference. But those fine places pale in comparison to our anticipation about the cruise. Cruising is in a whole different category when it comes to vacationing. If you haven't been on a cruise, start 2013 off with a bang. Check out the details and let us know if you have any questions. You can also talk to other 48Days.net members who are already registered to go...........
Each week we feature some of our favorite forum discussions, blogs, groups and members in the Notes on the front page. Please note that those who are featured and highlighted are always selected from those who have a clear picture, are active here in this community and are adding valuable content in some way. No magic or inside track – those are the things we look for.
This week we're highlighting:
Featured Discussion – Celeste Coffman asked for some business advice in Barber in a Truck - could this work? Would it be possible to have a profitable business going to plant parking lots to offer on-site haircuts? She asks the right questions regarding income split with the barber, health laws, codes requirements, etc. Do you have a similar business idea? Do you have insight to add to this discussion? Think about what’s happened to mobile oil changes, car detailing, and even things like mobile bookkeeping.
Featured Blog – Rich Avery poses a great question in Is Your Job a Gift from God? Popular research tells us 75% of Americans hate their work and now Rich is revealing to us that this statistic has increased to 80%! What gives? What’s it’s going to take for more people to start being intentional about seeking out their unique gifts and living a life of purpose? Be sure to read on for Rich’s thoughts…
Featured Group – this week’s featured group is Teachers Who Need More, headed up by Todd Freese. In Todd’s words – “This group is a place where teachers in the public and private sector can share ideas on how to use our unique skills to build a business to benefit ourselves and our clients.” Members are sharing the challenges of today’s classroom – and also ways to leverage intellectual expertise and to build additional income. If you’re a teacher and want encouragement or can share some valuable inspiration to others, check out this growing group.
Featured Member -- our featured member this week is Rob Clinton from Dacula, GA. Rob started coaching a couple of years ago. As with all start-up businesses he experienced some early challenges and considered going back to his comfortable corporate career. But while he had immediate offers, he simply could not find peace of mind in thinking about that environment again. Once he decided he was committed to coaching it seemed like a volcano erupted. His success with 180 Career Coaching has been amazing to watch. He conveys his slogan with confidence - Helping Careers Come Alive! Because of his leadership in the community Rob also serves on our Advisory Team and monitors all blog activity here.
Are you committed to bringing your dream to life – or are you just sticking your toe in the water and keeping a safety net handy?
