The reason I ask is that my wife is very overweight after having our 3 boys and she was looking into adult fat camps (her words, not mine). Most of them she found are at posh resorts and were around $5K a week per person.

A few days ago I got really excited about being in management in a weight loss capacity and now I do not know where to turn. I like Curves, but I do not want to own a franchise. Have you looked into the positive effects of following a plant based eating plan to reduce lipids as well as hypertension? There are very compelling data indicating the determental effects of consumption of animal products. You can look at NutritionMD.com or PCRM (physician's committee responsible medicine) or search Neal Barnard or John McDougall. As someone who has always enjoyed meat and developed an anti-carb mentality, I am slowly transitioning into a low fat vegan lifestyle. Any thoughts out there?

I wouldn't go nuts testing my urine or saliva for pH. Maybe is has something to do with it but I doubt it. Are you having attacks at a 9.3 level? If you are, then just try to avoid those foods that increase UA levels like red meat, beer, and wine. Or you can get on medication that lowers UA, or you can just take anti-inflammatories when you get an attack.

Eating better always helps with everything. Also, you have to drink a lot of water when you get an attack to flush those crystals out, the more you drink the better during an attack.

What are you thoughts on the subject of “Gout”? I have researched the causes and so called cures for this aliment. My uric acid level last tested at 9.3. I have also been testing my urine and salvia, although not in that order, for PH. What is the correlation between blood PH and urine/saliva PH?
