START

Are you trapped in "analysis paralysis"? Are you trying to keep your dream alive all by yourself? Do you hear the clock ticking?

ME TOO!!!!

I just finished reading START by Jon Acuff. It is packed with amazing, amusing & inspiring action steps.

My hope is that I can find others that would benefit from a structured approach to taking ACTION toward their goals.

My first action step is starting this group, so that I have accountability to someone other than myself.

Would you like to join me! Let's START!

Hi- please share any ideas of the best step-by-step/ checklist type resources for getting an online business up and running.....I have ADD, so the simpler and more "checklisty" the better.  Thanks!

I have recently finished reading both Quitter and Start and they both have put me on the path to finally doing work that will complete me. For me they both provided fundamental ideas to start the next chapter in my life, and realize that I do not have to just make a huge leap of faith but that I can take my time to master my skills and slowly make them work for me.

HI Everyone, My name is Dennis.

All I had to do was read the group description to know this group is for me. Thank you for starting (No pun intended) this group. I have been chasing my dreams to be self employed for many years. I have taken a few chances and so far just have old debt tom the failed attempts.

Now I am ready for that all to change. I will be leaving my career after 28 years as a firefighter. Ready to take on the next phase of my life. However, with the prior failures looming over me like storm clouds I need that nudge that i hope to find here.

I also would love to help others get started. Since i have had past failures I had gained invaluable experience. I have not yet read the book. I will be heading over to amazon right after this post. I wish i was a better typer!

Thanks again Hope to make many new friends here!

Dennis

I started a blog at HandLetteringbyFord.com a week ago. My first post was about.... STARTING despite the fear and resistance you might feel.

On this blog, I am sharing my journey as I'm learning to hand letter and illustrate. I want to connect with all kinds of artists that might be struggling with the need to be accepted, perfection, procrastination, and other issues that can hinder our artistic pursuits.

I am by no means a great artist, but I'm not going to let that stop me because I know that I can and WILL become better at hand lettering. I sharing what I know now because if I wait until I know it all, well... it won't ever be shared.

I went to the START Conference here in Brentwood this weekend.  It was totally awesome!!  Jon Acuff really connected with the audience in a deep way.  He had many great speakers.  However, Jeremy Cowart, a Nashville photographer, rocked the house.  His entire speech was accompanied by a "pictorial"-that is the only word that comes to mind-presentation.  He received a standing ovation, and I doubt there was a dry eye in the house!  Great conference!
