Put Feet To Your Music

In this group I want to be able to help those musicians who want to "put feet to their music". Which means to take it somewhere, to set goals and reach them, to make this music thing happen. I want to give counsel through example and then give application.

What this group is about.

So my idea for this group is that I would like to share tips and actions that I've taken to put feet to my music. But it's not just all about me. This is more about you and where you want to go and be. Let's talk here and see what we can accomplish together.

I still have a long way to go, at least I have a ton of goals to reach still, but that's really what I'm wanting to build here. A community of musicians who need each other to get somewhere. My producer and friend told me that you only need one person to really believe in you. So let's see if we can start there.

 Let's move mountains together.

Hey guys, so I've been away from here for awhile. Haven't posted in a long time its seems. Lol. But anyway I'm working on writing more music now. And going to try to stay more connected with the group if I can. This is a song I have been working on and its not done. I just recorded a rough copy today. First verse and the chorus. Would like to hear some feedback on it. Appreciate any comments!

Hey gang,

Thanks for the input on recording in a studio.  I finished my first song yesterday.  If you want to hear it just send me an email at:

with This Is Your Life48 in the subject line.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get it out there and waiting on some artwork.

Thanks for your encouragement!

I'd like to welcome a friend of mine here. Mike Hirst. He's a great musician and has had success in the past doing music for a living. Welcome Mike.

Also I'd like to welcome Rabbine to the club here to.

Hey Mike, welcome to the group. Glad to have you.

I'm trying to organize a song contest up in the discussions above. I haven't yet created my song but I wanted to invite you to the contest too.

Really glad to have a percussionist on board here. I could use your chops. Nice website too.

Hey everyone, let's do something fun here. Let's have a contest. I think we can post songs here or we can use a source called www.soundcloud.com

I'm not sure of the rules yet, I just wanted to put this out there to see if there was interest. I'm not even sure of the prize. :) Here's just a few guidelines off the top of my head.

1.Recordings don't have to be mastered or professionally recorded.

2.They could be a cover song or an original. Instrumental or singer/songwriter

What do you think. Maybe we'll need to start a discussion above so post comments and songs there.  In fact, I'll do that now so you can answer me there.

I appreciate the welcome post,Ted.  I play the guitar and banjo.  We have a recording studio and media business.  We are working with many local artists that have the burning desire to do something with their music.  We love what we do and the power of influence that music holds.

This group is awesome!  Loving all the information in the comments.  We have attached a local cause to a song we just released to Itunes.  50% of the downloads are going to a local food bank.  The community is loving it and so are we.  It's a great way to promote the music, add to the community, and give from our hearts. The song  was written to inspire listeners to get beyond themselves and plug into a cause that is larger than themselves. I love the way music can motivate a person to overcome!  The name of the song is "Bring on the Dance"!  Let's dance on the injustices of the world!
