It was back in March on my way to my first Fantastic Friday that I first heard Jim Rohn speak. I had bought a book on tape for my drive that was supposed to cover all aspects of small business. The book was terribly dry even though it did contain good information. But the best thing about the book was the extra's that came with it. A CD by Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, and about 4 others. Half way through the book I got tired and decided to try the other CDs. I was absolutely blown away by Jim Rohn. If you haven't heard Jim speak here is a video for your enjoyment.

Now! you'll notice Jim mentions that he started working on his fortune part time in the video above. I didn't know this until just a month ago but that part time fortune was in a network marketing, home based business opportunity.

There are some good business opportunities out there you just need to know what to look for and how to succeed. I hope this group will be a forum to learn more about these opportunities and the work that makes people successful at them.

I know people will want to use this group to hock their own opportunities. I ask that you refrain and instead use the group to share your experiences and techniques.

So, is your year shaping up in the end?  Are you positioning yourself in the marketplace to start 2014 strong?  What are some of your thoughts?  What are some of doing to make sure you're ready to end the year strong and start the new year? Would love to be sharing ideas.  Hope you are all doing well.

I"m starting to like network marketing.  I realize that when I believe in what I do and what I have it is easy to talk about.  I like the fact that I can coach people to make better choices.  I come from an education background so its all about educating others.  I'm enjoying what I do.

Well my business has become the stuff of dreams, and I'm no longer scared to call myself a professional network marketer. I am in the top 1% of my company, but am seeking out knowledge that will help me go to the next level. I have discovered Jim Rohn recently and I adore him. Any suggestions on top of that?

I just joined this group.  I think I'll be able to learn alot.  I've been part of a company (buying every month) for over 16-years.  Now I am choosing to do the business side of it.  How did some of  you determine your business niche...the business you chose.  What factors played into your decision to do what you are doing.  I know I had my own criteria but I want to know what others were/are looking for.  Thanks in advance!

Extremely helpful Mike!

Thanks so much. This put a lot of what I had been thinking in perspective. There is a quote that I love by Robert Kiyosaki:

"THE FEAR OF BEING DIFFERENT PREVENTS MOST PEOPLE FROM SEEKING NEW WAYS TO SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS."

What you are saying reminds me of this. I know when someone takes a look at a business idea that is based in Network Marketing there are cookie cutter was of building a business they give you but I have always felt a little uncomfortable with them. I guess that's because when I go against being Authentically Me things will not go right (which is by God's design right?).

Thanks again for your help and response!

Hi Wendy,

Great question.  The truth is most people aren't successful in network marketing.  I've been in network marketing for 18 yrs. and I struggled with little to no success until I stopped listening to everyone else telling me that I had to be like them and follow their "duplicatable system".  If the "system" really worked then why do most people fail at network marketing which is a legitimate and viable business model?

I only started to be successful when I decided to stop being a replicatable MLM robot and started playing off of my talents and my strengths.  The two free tools below helped me break free from the network marketing insanity and start building my network marketing business the right way.

1.) THE 7 GREAT LIES OF NETWORK MARKETING: This FREE ebook reveals exactly why no one seems to care about your business opportunity... why "word of mouth" advertising is a myth... and why no matter how hard you push yourself or how "motivated" you become, you still find yourself no further than you were one year ago.

2.) THE ATTRACTION MARKETER'S MANIFESTO:

Don’t Make the Same Mistakes that I Made.  If there was just one thing I wish I'd learned when I first got started in network marketing more than 18 years ago, it would have been this; You don't need to chase down anyone to get them to buy your products or join your business opportunity.

After doing the whole "warm market/names list” and “3 foot rule" thing, and chasing my friends and family; I finally discovered how to have people come to me! Think about it, how successful can your business really be when it’s entire marketing strategy is based upon soliciting people who never asked to be solicited? The answer is… not very.

Network marketing + bad marketing = Unprofitable home-based business.

The free report below will show you how to actually attract people to you who want your products, your service or your business opportunity.  If you want something different than everybody else then you have to start doing something different than everybody else.

I hope this helps.

God Bless.

I wanted to ask a question of those who are successful in Network Marketing. I signed up for a great product that I genuinely enjoy and find value in. The challenge is I don't consider myself a sales person! I have a circle of friends and family I have asked to join but they always respond with "I am cheap...", "I don't want to pay for anything", etc. without even looking at the service. How do you overcome those types of obstacles? I am trying so hard not to be one of those pushy sales people I dislike that I am not selling anything-LOL! I really don't want to give up but excel at this. Can anyone offer advice?
