Hi Christine! Embedding mp3 files directly at your webhost is not usually a good idea. You can get away with one or two small files, but if you're consistently adding new mp3 files to your host you will quickly run out of room on your hosting account, you don't derive any of the benefits of using better tools, like a content delivery network (CDN). Using a CDN will help with delivery to various different locales where your audience may be, it's really cheap, and it's the best to keep your site performing well.

Would love people's opinion. I need to embed some mp3 files on my website (WordPress). Should I host them directly on my website, or should I put them elsewhere and link to them? Thanks.

Hey folks - a quick update. Here is a new tool that I've started using that's easy as can be. It's a great tool for working with and managing relationships in your email.

Have you used it? How's it going?

I like this idea Jeremy - can you tell us more about what you're thinking? Maybe start a thread where we can discuss.

Thought for the group here, the members of My Website Workshop.

As an idea to throw out there.... would anyone in this group that is actively trying to build their online presence, interested in forming an accountability group?

Just a thought.

Cam, Rob,

Thanks for the observations / feedback.  It's nice to have the accountability factor to get things done and finished.  a few of the changes were implemented into the site.

Will update the group as to the site progress as things move forward.

Thanks again!

Jeremy - that looks fantastic - very well done! the scrolls are a little touchy (at least on my mac).

I love your type choices and the design overall looks great.

Found these two things:

Good looking site Jeremy.

The three pieces of observation/suggestions I have are:

  1. When I scroll down on your page with my arrow or page down keys, I can scroll faster than your content displays. While it is a cool effect, before I even see your content start to come in, I wonder if your site is broken or incomplete.
  2. The widget headlines are hard to read on the grayscale photo in the "Event Photography" section of your homepage. I would do something to help them be more legible/readable.
  3. On your contact page, in the my location section, you have a zoomed out view of the entire world. Is this your subtle way that you are everywhere, or is the Google map not positioning you properly?

Best wishes on your site. Keep up the excellent work.

Hello All,

Rob, as mentioned earlier, here is my new brand/website:

This is a major re-brand of my personal efforts and direction in the market place.

Basically, it is a combination of the following three areas:

  • Technology Startups
  • Corporate Culture
  • Photography

At Keynote Media, we are capturing the message of individuals and businesses.  We are helping them tell their own story, in their own words, and doing all of this in a visual format.

So, from a niche site perspective... I am continuing my efforts in the areas of website creation and marketing, but now focusing my efforts into one main area, the About Page!

For reference, here is my new about page: http://www.keynote.media/about

Any feedback/thoughts/ideas are welcome.

Thanks 48 Days peoples!
