Turkey and pie for sure! And our furry family members too - we've got two dogs and they love my little girl and she loves them.

I don't know if it's because I'm not a young kid any longer or what but the little things - Christine mentioned them: food, shelter, etc. It's amazing how well-off we are and we don't even know it. J-O-B-S are good too. There is so much to learn and they provide for so much beyond a basic salary. LOVE all this!

Hi Rob! What a great prompt -- thank you. Wow, where do I start?

  • Like the rest of you, I'm thankful for my immediate family. A hubby who's stuck with me for 30 years, two outstanding kids who have turned into some pretty stellar grown people, a fantastic son-in-law, and the most adorable grandson on the planet.
  • Physical provision -- As Christine said, I live in a comfortable home and never worry about whether or not we're going to eat. I don't take that for granted.
  • Freedom. I'm profoundly grateful for this.
  • Unexpected blessings. The past 7 years have been pretty challenging for us, but things are MUCH better now and we've experienced a few unexpected surprises in the past month or two.
  • Friends. We're incredibly blessed with rich friendships and those are such a treasure.
  • Work. I'm grateful for work and a way to earn some income, and particularly grateful to be doing work that's fun, and with some very cool people.
  • Things to look forward to. We're in a place to be chatting about fun things for 2016, and I'm grateful for that.
  • My old dog, Jake. Poor guy is 13, has developed diabetes and is going downhill. I'm grateful for every day he's still around. And grateful for the wonderful people who have helped keep him going this long.
  • My 48Days friends. You guys rock.
  • And turkey and pie. I'm excited about those two things tomorrow.

What am I thankful for:

I guess they are similar to both Camden's and Rob's.  This question is quite timely as I have really struggled this week, so it is good to look at the positive things.

  • God - that He gives meaning to my life and is with me through all the ups and downs.
  • My health and the health of my children.
  • My family - in particular, my husband and children.
  • Opportunity - That I and my children have opportunities in this life.
  • Food and shelter - seriously, that I live somewhere and have a job that means we are not living in poverty or in a war zone.  That I live somewhere where there is justice rather than corruption.
  • For people who bring joy to this world in so many ways.  As I see people volunteer are help others in so many ways.

Hi Rob,

Similar to you, I am thankful for:

  • An amazing God, who not only loves me, but who also continually pushes me out of my comfort zone towards trying new things, and who loves to help me accomplish "God-sized" goals.
  • An amazing Family (both immediate & extended), who have allowed, helped, and encouraged me to grow, to see new things, and to rest appropriately.
  • A solid J-O-B, which allows me the ability to provide for my family while I am building a solid and scalable side income. (Yep, I said J-O-B in a positive fashion in Dan's community! :O )
  • The Freedom to live in a place where I don't have to fear leaving my home or neighborhood.
  • Open-ended Opportunity to stretch for my goals, visions, and dreams. While my website and ministry is growing much slower than I would have liked it to, I can look back and see how God has helped protect me from some negative paths I began down. As I continually redirect and refocus, I can see the ministry moving closer to where He is showing me it should be.

I am sure there are others, but I am out of writing time. Thanks for sharing Rob and I'm interested in seeing more thanks shared!

Tomorrow is Turkey Day! What are you thankful for?

For me - I'm grateful for:

My health - this has been on my heart a lot lately. It's an easy thing to take for granted and easy to overlook, but my health - along with the health of my wife and little girl are of the utmost importance to me.

My faith - I don't talk much about it, but I'm humbled and grateful to have taken just a little perspective of how involved God is involved in my life

My family - Very closely aligned with the first two - my wife and my little girl are the most important things in the world to me bar none.

Opportunity - you don't hear a lot about that today. THere is so much evil in the world, so many excuses, so many legitimate complaints, but at the end of the day there is more opportunity available to each and every person now than there has been at any point in history. You can work virtually online from anywhere in the world, build your big idea online, start a business, write a book, just about anything you can imagine is possible - with a lot of hard work and determination. I've learned about "hustle" over the last couple years, and I learn how much more is available through solid ideas executed relentlessly.

These are just the things on the top of my mind this morning, there are no doubt, many more things I could list.

What about you? what are YOU grateful for?

Love Stripe! I've been using it for a while now, and I'm implementing it in to more of my projects.

I've got a completely revamped and improved version of WPLaunch in the works, new improvements for the Foundry site, and I've started looking to bring on another developer as my biz grows.

Comment by Camden Ross on October 28, 2015 at 5:42am

Hi Rob (and others),

I am working to integrate Stripe and an SSL certificate onto my site. These are two of the three things left to launch the new block of Bible Studies -- which was my "big hairy audacious goal" for this year.

Thanks for asking. What are others of us up to?
