In addition to Rob's suggestions, I highly recommend and use WordFence. It is on all my websites and effectively shuts down brute-force style attacks (like the Login Lockdown plugin does).

However, it also has lots of tools that help you detect and fix any file that gets corrupted or modified from what it should be -- which is really nice as well -- if your site does get hacked, and it lets you know when plugins, themes, or WP itself have updates available.

It is probably my #1 plugin choice at this point.

It's usually a matter of prevention more than anything else. If you see something it can sometimes be too late.

For WordPress I'd make sure you're using something like Login Lockdown to fend off brute force attacks, and use something like CloudFlare to guard your site as a whole.

We use both on all new set-ups at WPLaunch.

I did this post on wordpress security a couple months back.

Just a heads-up website owners: seems to be some stuff going around with websites being targeted and attacked via SQL injection attacks, and brute force login attempts. Make sure you've got your stuff locked up tight!!!

First part of the week, I spent helping my dad tweaking his website.

Last week and over the weekend, I created the following short video clip for my church -- which took longer than I thought, but I like how it turned out:

Now to get caught up on email.  . . .

Lots! I'm expanding my editorial business to offer a broader range of self-publishing services and resources. I'm doing a business coaching program with Alan Jackson (Six Month Jump) and he's doing a great job of keeping me focused and helping me move forward.

As a result, I need to update the messaging on my thedianekrause.com website and set up something new for my newly defined publishing business.

In addition to that, a good deal of contract work and editing jobs. Busy, busy, busy!
