Laura, I think you are right, organization can make everyone's life much more pleasant and comfortable. Think of all the different types of organizational skills you can bring to the table and then all the groups, companies, organizations, individuals you can help. Once you have a list of what you can do and who you can help you can begin to see the direction you want to go in.

I truly believe in everyone has a passion they need to make happen. I'm the speaker at tomorrow's FREE TELESUMMIT on Launching and Monetizing your Business and talking about how to take the steps to make your passion, happen. I thought the talk would be helpful to some people in this group. So I hope you register http://goo.gl/o7lENA and then let me know what you think!

Good question. My two cents - Offer to help someone get organized in their small business/home/company/wherever you can find the opportunity. Then, look for ways to monetize that. Start a blog or niche podcast and help as many people as possible. It won't be long before you are a recognized expert in organization. Let us know how it goes.

How can I start a business using my # 1 passion - organizing? I'm trying to find out what I want to be when I grow up know that I love organizing and I know I want to make a difference for the better in this world. Any ideas how I can turn my passions into a business?  thanks

It's great when a person begins to "walk" in the path of their life's work; and being able to have residual income allowing a person to do the things he/she really wants to do and not be concerned about getting paid.  I love helping people make their lives better financially, physically, environmentally and keeping balance.  I've always wanted to do Crisis Response work (i.e., respond to such things as hurricane Sandy by going and helping.) Just signed up to go through training so I will be able to help in the future.  I will have income while I go do the work.  The power of residual income can allow people to truly enjoy life and to give "like no one else."  Like Scott shared: "....there is only scarcity of resolve to make it (what you love to do) happen."  Life is good.

Hi Rebecca, it's funny, first you say that you don't have much of content knowledge in any given area. Then you go on to say that you could talk about traveling and the places you've been to all night long. :)

Perhaps you cannot demonstrate an interest in the typical things that has shown up in job ads, but that doesn't mean that you don't have an interest--on the contrary it sounds like. :)

What do you need this "content area" for? For starting your own business? To demonstrate an interest to employers? Just curious.

That's an interesting exercise, Charlotta, thank you for sharing!  My problem seems to be that I don't have a particular content area.  I have great skills in processes - office software, managing projects, events - but not much in the way of content knowledge about any given area.  For instance, in job announcements, it'll say "demonstrable interest in women's right/public health/nuclear arms/whatever - fill in the blank".  I don't have that - that content area of any sort.  I don't have any experience in any particular content area.

I like the question of what you could talk about all night, and for me that'd be places I've been.  The largest portion of my bookshelf is travel guides.  I'm on my 4th passport.  So clearly, I love to travel!  But, turning that into a content area?  I'm not entirely sure how...
