Comment by Andrea Rose on May 19, 2013 at 11:21am Pierce.. I moved the question to discussions. Thank you for your input. I could work on being more specific I just find myself as a Girl Friday who can adapt as needed for the job, which is why I labeled myself as an assistant in the first place. Perhaps it is time to re-think this though.
Alex, I market my different abilities on my site but find that potential customers seem to only notice the pricing for my "Assistant" services. Perhaps I should change all the prices to "Call for a free quote".

Comment by Andrea Rose on May 19, 2013 at 10:54am I need some advice. So far I have been marketing/branding myself as a Virtual Administrative Assistant; however, I think that this may not be an accurate representation of my skills. When people ask me about specifics of what I do I respond with things like: sourcing, managing Infusionsoft campaigns, web design, marketing, and managing social media sites, then follow with my secondary functions like managing email, scheduling appointments, booking flights and other office tasks. It seems that most of the people I talk to do not think sourcing and marketing are in line with being an "assistant".
So my question is, when you think of "Virtual Assistant" what tasks comes to mind? Should I change my branding to something along the lines of "Sourcing and Marketing Specialist" or just stick with the title of "Virtual Assistant"?
Thanks in advance for any insights you may be able to provide!
Comment by Ed Ouano on June 20, 2012 at 10:09pm Cool video, Nathan! I think many of us need to find more balance in our lives, myself included! You seem to have a cool way of doing it. And, it's always cool to name your pets after cars : )

Thanks for checking things out! I do find it ironic how I don't like to blog.. but end up writing small books when I do. :)
Thanks for the suggestion to write shorter stuff and use more callouts.
You might be interested to know my latest post (put it up just now) is only one paragraph long. I couldn't help myself - I put together a little video of my odd morning routine. If you'd like to see it: http://nathanmiller.squarespace.com/blog/2012/6/20/my-morning-routi...
And you'll be glad to know I have some shorter posts coming out in the next few days. I think my first few were about getting some thoughts out of my brain more than anything.
Nathan, how fun! I liked your simple design of the website - it calming. Just a brief note to suggest using more call outs on your text - it is well written, but honestly it was lengthy to read. Breaking it up here and there will make it easier to read. Congrats!
Comment by nathan miller on June 20, 2012 at 8:38am So it looks like I'm either changing jobs or going full time with my art/design/web stuff. As such I'm trying to "brand" myself a little better. My website for business is ambitDesign.com but I think I need to work on the personal branding a little more. Yesterday I pulled out my old blog and made some changes. I hope to use it to help people get to know me, what I do, and hopefully offer some products/services that bring in some income (or better yet, show me my next phase in life!). I've got a few articles up already, and a few more set to show in the next couple days.
I was wondering if you would mind having a look. The URL is: nathanmiller.squarespace.com
