Your place for community & resources to find or create work you love
We are so glad you're here and ready to take the next step! We created 48days.net as a place for community. For people to encourage each other and help each other in finding or creating work that is meaningful.
But frankly, we've outgrown it, so we're moving to provide you new resources.
48Days.net will be closing as it is today on November 30, 2017. Until then current members can click the button below to access groups and resources.
If you're new to 48days.net, connect here for a close up look at our thriving 48 Days Eagles Community and to get weekly free resources and motivation as you find and create work you love.
I am super excited about the possibility of doing some online training however want to make this super easy to do to start off.
Is there a web camera and lapel mic that you would recommend to use with my Mac account to record onto Zoom as I want a professional look (higher than my current Mac camera), yet is easy to use and doesn't cost a arm and a leg.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Here was a webcam that Zoom support suggested
Hey Jen - I prefer the Logitech 920 camera. Slightly less expensive and works great. The 922 is a nice unit as well.
Mics are a trickier subject. Although I've never owned one personally, there are super cheap USB options, such as this SoulBay. However, if you are sitting or standing at a desk, you may have better results with either an AT2100 or a Blue Yeti. If you are determined to use a lav, a quality route would be something like a Sony EMC-44 with an XLR to USB adapter.
I can tell you from experience cheap mics (sub $25) don't hold up for long. If you experiment with that route, consider buying a spare, so you won't have to halt production when it has issues.
THANK YOU for the info!!! I went ahead and ordered the Blue Yeti and just went with the 922.
