Two years ago, I had the privilege of speaking over Easter weekend at my church. The unique way I shared the Easter story was by asking myself the question "Why that year?"

Sure, God wrote prophecy to point to that year, but He could have made prophecy point to any year He wanted to. So why might He have chosen that year?

While this was one of my shorter messages, if any of you are interested in my thoughts and answer to this question, here's a link to the video of that weekend: A Murderer, A Bystander, and A Criminal

If any of you are speaking this Easter, feel free to take this angle and make it your own. :)

P.S. While signing up for weekends to speak this year, I happened to pick Easter weekend again (though at the time I didn't realize it). I'm still deciding what I want to share this year, so this comment thread will be catching my attention moreso than some others. :)

We're creeping up on Easter. Now if you're in any kind of ministry, one thing becomes readily apparent. Where for the rest of the year you can pick from virtually any subject matter when it comes to Christmas and Easter, most people expect that you will stick with those two most important of stories. The downside of this is they are stories that people have heard so often I fear they take it for granted. This provide a unique opportunity to be creative, to help them see the story with fresh eyes. Before I tell you the direction I'm thinking of I thought I'd ask you, how would you express Easter to help people see the greatest story ever told through fresh eyes?

I made this meme after getting just a little tired of all the out and out bigotry against Christians I see on social media... What do you think? For more of my cartoons, click here.

I just wrote a piece on a very important aspect of the creative life. Knowing when to "hang it up..." Please read it and let me know what you think. http://48days.net/profiles/blogs/knowing-when-to-hang-it-up?xg_sour...

I just wrote a couple radio "Dramatic" Scripts(or Copy)The only thing I knew was the Theme of the thing I was selling. Writers Block hits sure. What do we know-If Our Eye sees a blank page we can easily think BLANK. But put something down-even instructions or names related to your project. a Page with some material can help your Eye and Mind Trigger! From "I have nothin'! to "Hey!"

One of the things that seems apparent with most creatives is the need for inspiration. Sometimes it seems the blank page or the blank canvas or the lump of clay or whatever your medium is seems to mock us as we try to figure out what to do. If you've been reading this blog of any length of time, you know I believe sitting around waiting for inspiration is a waste of time (most of the time). Instead we should chase inspiration down. We should seek it. So today I thought I would ask a question. What inspires you? What are your go to "places" to find inspiration? And how do you take that inspiration and put it to work?

I'll share a few of mine tomorrow, but first I want to hear from you?

Come on. Inspire me!

Hi David,

I am confused a little as well, so I started a discussion to hopefully get some answers. Feel free to follow it here, and hopefully someone in the loop will share more info about the future of the free site.

I'm a little confused. Does this site go away as the 48 days eagles comes into play? I hope that is not the case. If it is and you members want more creative ministry stuff, please subscribe to AMOKArts.com of follow me on Facebook. I can't afford to make the jump at this time.
