Benny, I don't know anything about that business specifically, but I recall seeing a book stand much like you are describing with maybe 20-40 different titles at a Pilot station (truck stop) in Brazil, IN off I-70. It was located near the restrooms.

Hello group! I'm new here put this seams to be a fitting group for me. I have in idea I've bin looking into a bit which is placing helpful books like Dan's and Dave Ramsey's and others in local conveniant stores and truck stops, set up small cardboard book displays, what I'm not sure about is how to set that up for retail or how to compensate the store owners etc, and also what the best way would be to purchase the books. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated. -thanks

I already took the editing voice to text issue into account. The user has the ability to edit after upload as well. So they can use the app for the general idea of the listing item and make minor changes. But I've tested the app and never had a problem. It works quite well.

Thanks for the comments

Derrik, I definitely like the idea. There aren't a lot of auctioneers around, but maybe there are enough to make it work for you. People who sell used items online all have the same problem though. I've avoided selling used stuff on ebay because it is too  much work to create individual listings. I actually ended up quitting a line of stuff I was making and selling on ebay mostly because of the work involved in making individual listings.

The biggest hangup I see is that voice to text is cumbersome to edit, but there are workarounds that aren't too  bad, mainly editing it on a real computer.

I am about to launch my new app and software that I created.

If you look at my last comment below you will find that I discuss that you can start a business based off A NEED instead of AN IDEA.

I have proved that this is possible and now have a product that was created based on a sit down interview with a business owner / manager and asking.......

What do you wish was easier about your job????

And.....AUCTIONUPLOAD.com is born.

It is a app and software that make the job of creating auction inventory lists much easier for the Auction Industry.

You can see it at www.AuctionUpload.com

I would like to hear your feedback.

Why our business ideas don't work!

I have a complete new attitude towards starting a business now.

Like you, I would set around and try to think of something that I could do to create a profitable business. I would look for ideas around every corner and as soon I thought I had a "Great Business Idea", I would try it and fail miserably.

I would just tell myself that "something would have to work, eventually". This isn't true. Albert Einstein defined INSANITY as" Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

This jumping from business idea to business idea will drive you insane. It will beat you down and make you feel like a failure. If this sounds like you, then I have a solution that will fix all your problems.

Let me explain why.....

About a year ago, I came across a podcast that featured Dane Maxwell (learn more about Dane here) as the guest. I must have listed to it at least 30 times, taking notes and trying to remember every little thing he said during the interview. I couldn't believe how easy his methods of starting a business was. It sounded so simple, yet I had never thought of it.

That was when I realized that Dane has it all figured out.

What does Dane do different than the rest of us?

He doesn't try to create business ideas anymore. He doesn't go into a business guessing or hoping it will work.

He now starts a business without any ideas or money.

I'm sure you are wondering how this is possible. I sure was. So I set out to learn more about Dane Maxwell and his methods. I listened to podcast, watched Youtube videos, read blog posts, and even chatted with Dane by email.

After learning everything that I could, I set out to try what Dane advised.

Within 2 weeks I had a business with customers begging me for my product (that I didn't even have yet). I even had one customer offering to pay me 5 times the cost of what the actual product cost me to create.

So I managed to start a business, with no idea and no money. Just like Dane said was possible.

After spending a few months getting everything together, I am about ready to launch my new product and new business. If you would like to see what the product is, I can send you a sneak peek look. Just send me a message requesting a link.  I think you will be impressed with what I have created with no knowledge or experience and a little help from Dane Maxwell.

Here's the idea: There are new startups everyday. These are companies created by entrepreneurs who want to solve problems. How about an online store that sells products and highlights companies that exist to make the world a better place?
