I really liked using DollarPhoto, however now that their business is closed, looking for a new place to purchase pictures from for my blog and presentations. Any suggestions on who you have used and like?
Hi Jen -
Here are some I currently use and have used in the past:
www.unsplash.com (All pic's are FREE but I can't always find one that fits.)
stocksnap.io - Same as Unsplash. All pic's are free.
Flickr - you just have to change the license filter to what you need it for (Creative Commons, allow modifications, no known license restrictions, etc.)
Hope those help!
I go to Upwork.com and post a job for x-number of images with a theme, and get the original, large file size, and the size reduced for web use. You can pay a flat fee or per hours. I got 30 images, 10 for each of three themes, from an American source for $75. Could get them cheaper from overseas, but I wanted the American cultural feel. I find working with images takes too much time.
Canva would be another resource. I use them a ton to make social media posts and simple graphics. I've never bought an image, but they advertise over 1M images to choose from, and they're all $1/each to use.
I like Fotolia.com for paid photos, and Pixabay for freebies. Pixabay has a lot of high-quality, free images, but like a lot of free image sites, you'll see lots of people using the same images.
Fotolia uses credits, so you have to buy a package. But they run specials often. The photos start at about $1.50 and range depending on the size of the photo needed.
I recently signed up for StockUnlimited. The price was right and there's quite a few photos to choose from.
Will, Charles, Joseph, and Nicole...THANK YOU for the responses back!!! These were helpful!!!
Why does no one mention Canva? that's my favorite.
