Be Your Finest Art

Dorsey McHugh and Joanne Miller are artists and writers. Together we have written a book BE YOUR FINEST ART released June, 2014.  This group will involve and target anyone who feels they have a creative bent and we believe everyone does. Sometimes that nature is long buried or thought to be frivolous and not to be taken seriously.  We are here to prove otherwise. We want your input as we dialog about the importance of tapping regularly into your right-brain.  We promise it will enhance your well-being on many levels.

Our Book Is HERE!

After a long wait while our book Be Your Finest Art was being printed in China, our shipment finally arrived last week.  During our Wednesday morning art class we heard a big truck lumbering up the lane with our load of books. To say we were excited would be a gross understatement! We all gathered outside and took photos and had a grand celebration. If you are local (or not far away) perhaps you can join us at our first big book signing celebration at Two Old Hippies in the Gulch in Nashville.  It is June 24th from 6-7:30 PM and Dan Miller will be interviewing us.  Light refreshments will be served. Hope you can join us!

I recently read a book that Dan had lying around.  The title, "Ignore Everybody...and 39 Other Keys to Creativity" by Hugh MacLeod grabbed my attention.  There are some rather unorthodox....no actually the word vulgar comes to mind.... words…Continue

"Stifled in your Creativity" in one sense I think Seeing that the clock is ticking can do that. The Stress of daily Life. For me when worry and fear start creeping in..and anxiety... lately it has been on how to creatively tell my boss I can do more than my job entails..yet thinking this through I may have to tell myself that first. These are distractions right now to some creative thought I am in.

Hi Joanne and Dorsey. You should be proud. Your book is both inspiring to read as well as beautiful. I have shared in on my Facebook fan page and with my blog subscribers.

I wish you the best of success with it.

Dorsey and I are promoting our book as much as we know how.  Hoping that word of mouth will pay off.  Lots of talk about it going around.  Getting great reviews and comments from readers.  And everyone says that it is a piece of art in itself....which was our plan.  I wrote a guest blog forErin Casey, My Writer's Connection, on becoming unstuck if you are a writer.  Hope you will read it.  There are some good tips in it.  But I believe the article isn't just for writers.  All Creatives get stuck sometimes.  I give six tips to help you when that happens.  Click here to read it.
