I'm new here. My name is Gary Gilliam. I'm interested in obtaining a dealer license in my state after reading Dan's new book, as in his book he directs people that are interested to check out dealerlicense.com for the free ebooks.
I checked them out and now I'm interested in possibly buying one of the site owners packages. I'm curious whether anyone here has already gone forward with that. If so, what package did you get?
Hey Gary! In my opinion this website has some good info and products although it is important to get your feet wet first before you invest into the software they offer. What your story? Have you been buying and selling cars for a while? Are you new to this or are you a veteran who is finally trying to make "the big leap" into the auto dealer ownership? (that's my category)
I would recommend you first check out your local secretary of state's resources for car dealers. Surprisingly there is a lot of good / free information, which will make things clear for you on how to comply with the local law. Without that you cannot operate your business therefore this is an important first step before investing into anything else. Good luck!
I'm new to the idea of being a licensed dealer. I've bought and sold a few cars in the past, a boat, and a camper. I'd just like to start buying at a wholesale rate and then selling for a profit. I've got a couple acres out in the suburbs so I won't have to have a lot, I'll be able to sell cars from my home(big plus)(low overhead).
Would like to start off small and work my way up to possibly leasing or buying a lot one day.
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check with the Secretary of State to see if i can get some free info!
Did you end up buying this kit?
I did and I must say I learned quite a bit from it, but the best lessons were from trial and error.
They guy that wrote it shared some good info about checking cars and going to auctions. As for getting your license your state DMV website will have all you need.
Let me know how it's going for you
