Great question Colleen--Check out Jonathan Milligan and his blogging program: https://members.bloggingyourpassion.com/p/bypu101
In addition I'd recommend:
1. Research any other blogs on the same topic
2. Set up your blog on Wordpress--again there are programs that can help you if you are unfamiliar with wordpress
3. Create a list of topics and an editorial calendar of when you want to blog about them
4. Take imperfect action and GO! You will learn what you need as you go. Enjoy the process:)

Dear A Called Woman Members,

I would like to start blogging on how to write--particularly theses and dissertations.  I tutor in this area and teach a practicum in this area.  Would any of you have any ideas as to how I would begin to set up a blog and start writing on this topic?

Hi Colleen and Welcome!. I love that you are so passionate about wanting to share the right history with students! So thrilled to hear you are wanted to write not only a book but are also into starting your own business, podcasting and blogging. You have come to the right group to get some great support for all your interests.

Hi Karen, Lynne, and all the others who welcomed me!  While I currently teach public health (teaching is my passion), I would really like assistance and accountability in developing multiple streams of income so I can teach they way I want and write that History book.   Karen, about 15 years ago when my youngest brother was still in high school, I was leafing through his History book and was appalled by what I saw--Janet Jackson and spam (I have nothing against either) and what I did not see--evidence of all the Africa American, Native American, and other Americans who helped shape this great nation.  It is bad enough that young people today have such a little sense of who they are and where they come from but for them to be given inaccurate information just compounds the problem!

Hello Ladies--I've enjoyed reading about all the creative and amazing endeavors you have come up with, its so encouraging. Have been paddling like crazy and so haven't posted in quite a while, but wanted to share some really fun new developments for Remembering the Time personal history. The website is newly redesigned and mobile friendly, I just love the new look and had a lot of fun working with a young local couple on the design. As part of this I took the plunge and started a blog this year to enable more regular sharing of tools and inspiration as I help people honor life by sharing their family member's stories. Here's the blog link: http://rememberingthetime.net/blog/

Jumped off the social media cliff too--wow, and invite you to join me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RememberingtheTime/

Happily finishing up two books for memoir clients this spring, one of whom is clear across the state--its so rewarding to help them share their story with family and friends.

If you're interested or learning more about personal history and want to visit about your ideas for capturing your own or someone you love please connect with me. The wonders of Skype, phone and all the different ways to connect make distance no issue. I'd love to hear from you! Best wishes  to you all.

Lynne--during some church library work I saw a copy of one of your Wyatt the Wonder Dog books--wonderful!
