Hello 48 days community, hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving. My question is concerning any information anyone might have in regards to finding creative work in the Dallas Ft. worth area ? I am currently employed with a package delivery company, and while I am grateful for the job, the long hours and wear and tear on the body (I just turned 51 this month!!) is starting to take it's toll. I also long for the opportunity to be part of something more, where my creative juices can flow. Any advice or information would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Oh John, it was so exciting to see your post as I am sure you are going to get some great feedback.
Before I jump in...have you taken the DISC assessment yet as this is the first step that Dan has his clients go through that can be extremely helpful. If not, go to: http://www.48days.com/disc/ for information on the profiles (would recommend the standard profile). If you have taken, what was your DISC profile?
As with so many people I coach, you answered your own question my friend!
Lots of creatives are good at their creation but horrible at selling. I would be willing to bet that if you learned how to sell t-shirts you could have your creative outlet and entrepreneurship wrapped up in your hobby!
But, you have to decide if you want to be an employee or an entrepreneur. If your "true desire" is really entrepreneurship, I wouldn't look for another job.
Hope that helps,
I am working with an insurance company out of North Carolina, we have leads (no cold calling) and we need help. This has been a great addition to my Leadership Coaching and speaking. It is part or full time and it allows you to build a business while helping families. This may not fall in with being creative but you can check it out at ChoicesFinancial.com I am located in Hope, Arkansas about 2.5 hours from you.
