Hey again you wonderful people! I'm back to the drawing board with creating a tagline for "Free Range Education."
In short, Free Range Education is an approach to school and education that begins with a child's individuality and their specific bent. I don't quite advocate "unschooling," but the idea is along that vein. I believe each and every day brings plenty of opportunity to learn.
This is what I'm playing around with:
Free Range Education- It's time to rethink school
or
Free Range Education- School without the School
I welcome any imput! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. :)

Permalink Reply by Theresa on August 10, 2011 at 7:34am Wow! Great ideas everyone! Thank you so very much...lots to chew over. RIght now I'm leaning toward something like Jay threw out...learning beyond fences.
Something I'll be mulling over as I read through the suggestions again. And again.
Thanks again for all the great ideas. The think tank here is the best on the net!
Permalink Reply by Bryan Hart on August 10, 2011 at 11:55am Building off the idea of "fences" what about "schoolyard" or "cage," or (as my school resembled in Memphis, TN) "Prison."
Some ideas:
Free Range Education: Out of the Schoolyard, Learning out of the Schoolyard, From the Schoolyard to the Backyard...etc.
Let us know what you decide (Maybe the person who gets the closest should get a cookie. :)

Permalink Reply by Jacob Woldstad on August 10, 2011 at 1:59pm I'll probably post a couple ideas as I think of them. We're right along with you. Not quite unschoolers, but definitely not school-at-homers, either.
Free Range Education - Learning through living.
