According to the Author Napoleon Hill a Burning desire is what is necessary to be successful. On the other hand I have heard  Desire is a bad thing because it is an attachment.. That is according to Buddhism. I am not a Buddhist although I can see psychologically how it might be a bad thing.  I wonder if a Burning desire has helped or harmed most people. If you have a story as to how Desire has helped ir harmed your ambitions I would like to read it. Thank you.

A desire can also be looked at as a passion for change. I wrote an entire book about finding that passion and shared the stories of how many others did the same. For each person, desire is often nothing more than being passionate about something that moves their soul. Sometimes that passion can be greedy but I have discovered most goodwill comes from a passion to create it. Feel free to check it out, FINDING YOUR FIRE.

There is a difference between the burning desire that Hill talked about and desire in other contexts.  I see the first is internal and the later is more of an external thing.  Napoleon Hills burning desire is more of a compass than something to be possessed.  I don't have a story per set, but here's one of my poems about desire.
